What do either of them have to do with Green?

Green is not an aggressive pressure fighter. He's more in the mold of Froch.

He can box, and he can pressure, but he prefers to fight on the outside and a rhythmic pace.

Kessler will find himself outgunned on the outside as green will counter him.

Kessler's only chance in this fight is to get close, and throw more punches than Green.

If he can manage to throw enough punches, he can steal rounds, regardless of how effective his aggression is.

However, Kessler is much easier to hit than Ward, and doesn't have the same style or approach.

This means that Green will land several shots on Kessler when Kessler is coming in, and when Kessler gets on the inside, he'll still need room to operate which means Green will have an opportunity to get his punches off.

Green punches hard, and is a more crisp puncher than Froch.

Unlike Froch though, Green doesn't have as much heart and tenacity.

Still, the way Kessler has been getting beat up in his last few fights, and the way he was forced to give 100% of his effort against Froch and in my eyes still came out the loser, so do you think he'll be able to replicate this against Green when people are already underestimating him?

Ward is a special fighter. He is a dominant fighter. He will win the tournament.

Kessler is solid, but he is not special.

This will be a close fight, and considering Green has nothing to lose, he is very dangerous because it is likely Kessler will underestimate him.

Kessler is going to annihilate Green. Kessler is too tough, difficult to hurt. Green relies on his ability to hurt you, and trust me, if Froch couldn't shut down Kessler with power then Green has no chance. Kessler outboxes Green from the outside. hopefully Kessler brings that right hand to the body like he did with Froch. Usually you need to be close to get good bodywork done, especially against a taller fighter, but Kessler with his dislike of infighting has found a way to get it done from range. Green, as we've seen, isn't much of an infighter himself. As for conditioning, Froch is one of the best-conditioned fighters around and Kessler had him half-dead by the end. Green was ready to go halfway through the fight against Ward, and he faded against Miranda as well.

This fight won't go well for Green. Kessler will outwork him (Green is notably lazy/slow-paced), tire him out with body punches and movement, and probably close the show in the mid-to-late rounds. Regardless, Green isn't beating Kessler.

Kessler will knock Green out. Green can't fight, really bad.

    Who has Kessler beaten?

Froch: Holds wins over Pascal, Taylor, and Dirrell. Was undefeated, which definitely counts for something.

Andrade: Wins over Steiglitz, Mack, and Bute (I'm counting that as a win, I don't see how you can call it a loss. Also, Bute is arguably the best supermiddleweight right now, is also arguably on the fringe of pound-for-pound contention, and was/is undefeated. Andrade knocked him out.) Andrade has only lost to Kessler and Bute.

Beyer: Wins over Richie Woodhall, Omar Sheika, Eric Lucas, Danny Green, Andre Thysse, and a draw against Bika.

Lucas: Wins over Glen Catley, Vinny Pazienza, and Omar Sheika

Mundine: Wins over Danny Green and 3 wins over Sam Soliman.

Siaca: Has a win over Mundine.

    Who has Kessler lost to?

Calzaghe: Kessler's performance in a LOSS to Calzaghe counts for more toward Kessler's credit than any of Green's wins.

Ward: Undefeated Olympic Gold Medalist, on the fringe of most pound-for-pound lists.

    Who has Green beaten?

Tarvis Simms: No notable wins. Maybe Delray Raines, since I'm feeling generous? (a recent David Lemieux victim)

Jaidon Codrington: Also hasn't beaten anybody. I'm including him because there's a serious lack of anyone else I've ever heard of lol.

    Who has Green lost to?

Miranda: No notable wins, but stepped up and lost to Pavlik, Abraham, Ward, and Bute.

Ward: Has beaten Miranda and Kessler, is an undefeated Olympic Gold Medalist, and is on the fringe of most pound-for-pound lists. No shame here, at least Green tried...oh, wait...

So Green is essentially a prospect at this point, and a prospect with two losses at that. One of the losses was in his first 12 round bout, and the other was against another guy who hasn't beaten anyone. So in order to predict a win against Kessler, we're going to have to go by the perceived skills/qualities of Green. We're going to have to call it as we see it, and it'll all be conjecture at best.

So: Green is black. Kessler on the other hand, is not only white, but also European. So that's a clear advantage for Green right there already.

Green has shown a serious lack of heart, determination, grit, focus, whatever you want to call it. Kessler is a warrior if nothing else. But Green is American, so there's that.

Kessler trains to fight 12 rounds. Green apparently trains to fight until his opponent fights back. Either way, Kessler is the better-conditioned athlete. But Green can probably bench more and has a higher vertical leap, so I guess it evens out.

Kessler has stopped world-level opponents. Green has stopped D-level fighters, as all prospects are expected to.

Kessler has cooler tattoos than Green.

Green may or may not have quicker hands than Kessler. We'll only be able to tell in the ring.

Kessler, contrary to popular belief, has good footwork and is decently hard to hit. Green...well...

Kessler fights at a fast pace. Green does not.

Kessler has never been stopped, dropped, or badly hurt. Green has been down and would most likely have been stopped if Miranda had two more rounds to work with. Hell, even Ward hurt Green.

Personally, I do not see how any of this points to a Green victory. I'll give him that he'll probably make a better fight out of it than he did against Ward, and even if Kessler does stop him, Green will probably have moments in the fight. I just can't see a relatively green prospect like Green outboxing Kessler over the distance, and despite the fact that Green has this supposedly wicked left hook which can dispatch your everyday garden-variety mailman with ease, I don't see him stopping Kessler, who was able to stand up to Ward, Calzaghe, and Froch while they hit him with everything but the kitchen sink. I'm having a hard time envisioning a scenario where Green could win, aside from a cut stoppage due to the fact that Ward pretty much destroyed Kessler's face.

Green is not overrated, he is not in the top 10 SMW, so he is right in his place.

It's just semantics, but him being in the top 10 would make him overranked. He is overrated by his fans, who rate his head to head ability against other super middleweights higher than it appears to be to the rest of us.

The way you put it, it's all good, but what I meant, is except for his die hard fans, I dont think people overate him. I think most people put him where he belongs, that's all.
