This fight will make Kessler look extremely good. He'll land a lot of straight right hands.

Can't see that happening - I think Miranda's power is somewhat overrated. He caught Pavlik lots of times especially in round 5 and Pavlik wasn't hurt. Pavlik got a fine chin, but it's not granit. If you look at Miranda's KO-rate versus the decent opponents he has faced it's: 10 fights - 8 victories - 5 by KO + he went the distance with Guzman.

Miranda has a punchers chance - he has got good power (but he isn't the Tyson some people make him out to be) - Kessler's chin seems fine - he took some good shots versus Calzaghe. If the fight goes the distance it's Kessler's - I can't see Kessler loosing a round to Miranda (unless of course he is knocked down).

But hopefully it's going to be a great fight - can't remember seeing either in a poor fight, so it should be good.

And props to both fighters for taking this fight - to Miranda for taking on Kessler, which few others seemed keen on. And to Kessler for choosing a live opponent with power for his comeback and not some softpunching hasbeen with a name...

    A good fight for boxing!

While there was a lot to analyse in the Kessler-Calzaghe fight, this one will be a slug-fest....last man standing!!! Time to bring the big guns out. Can't wait.

That's what boxrec says... The arm length according to HBO is 26"
Pavlik is a huge fighter but Miranda's arm lenght is much bigger...

    Come on Kessler. :good

Really hope he wins this and unifies the 168 division once Joe retires.

Very good fighter I have a lot of respect for this guy especially with the way he handled himself right throughout the Cazlaghe affair.

Sadly this is not the case. True sports fans already respect the athlete regardless of location. The rest probably never will. Those folks will tend to disregard the results or just pick another sport to bolster their nationalistic fervor.

I had a guy tell me point blank the way he chooses to cheer for a boxer is 1) Is he (the right race)? 2) Is he (the right nationality).

I went back replaced the race and nationality with the vague references you see. But you get the point.

To be specific to the point of Calzaghe and Kessler. The groundwork has already been laid to discount the outcomes. BHop is an old man. Miranda is a one dimensional slugger. That being said, how the prefight publicity is handled and how the announcers handle thier end could go a long way to educate the public. A mouth like Hopkins may play well to some in the states, but overall, that kind of trash isn't good for the sport, in my opinion. Contrast that to the way Pavlik/Taylor handled themselves, especially post fight. Each gained respect from the others fans. Ultimately, when the fighters respect each other, I think THAT is what spills over to the fans.

Great news!! Kessler wil stop him in my book.. I can see why some pick Miranda by a KO (lucky punch?) but 3 has picked him by decision.. you must be joking?

Okay guys! I've just rewatched Kessler-Andrade and OMG - even if it was the 3rd time I've seen it, it was still shocking and as brutal as Calzaghe-Lacy... Andrade took the beating of Arturo Gatti's career in just one fight...

Librado and Edison are different kind of warriors, Andrade's offense might be a bit better but his defense is terrible, while Miranda is a bit more complete as a fighter - but Kessler didn't lose one single minute against Librado and Andrade just kept coming... Not a good omen for Miranda...

    Here are the stats:
    Kessler: 856/348, 41%
    Andrade 923/95, 10% (!)

    hehe mon frère:)

So you want to be the latest edition to te Wendy Toy Boy army?:)

Even the coz of toys agrees with me. I simply can't see Miranda winning a round.

The coz says that Miranda could win by KD'ing Kessler.. I don't see how he could ever hit him hard enough to rattle him.
