A lot of people haven't seen this fight. Mundine stepped up for this one like he did for no other.

I've heard claims that Kessler is slow and has bad timing, well, Mundine's a lightning quick fighter who's also slick and hard to hit, Kessler is right there with him in the speed department and times some beautiful shots on him in this video, also showcases some competent defence and excellent sense of distance, as well as some varied punching and picture perfect left hooks and right hands.

Now put Pavlik in there with Mundine, picture it while watching. Slow as a turtle, open defence, troubled by good movement and his suspect chin with Mundine's speed/timing and power.

And do any of you really think the slow, no defence Miranda is going to do anything to Kessler?

Kessler's going to unload on him from the start, turn, jab, unload, jab, unload, jab, unload, turn, jab etc. etc. etc.

Watch the video and give it a good assessment, there's two class fighters well above your Taylor, Pavlik, Miranda type guys if you are unbiased in your viewing.

Here's a highlight between two sloppy B level fighters that are not only open to be hit nearly at all times, but even miss wide with a lot of shots(against each other, two guys with HORRIBLE defences), showcasing limited timing.

Note the lack of footspeed also -

I really like this fight! Seen it several times. Mundine is way underrated as well. Hes got tight defence and excellent speed.

Btw Kessler came into this fight with a back injury.

He's had a carreer threatening back injury early in his carreer (a slipped disc in his lower back I think).

    I'm watching them simultaniously.

My unbiased assessment is that Kessler is texbook technical bliss, an A- level elite with very few flaws, tentativeness(but not overtentativeness) being one and excellent timing with excellent handspeed.

Mundine is very good, underrated mostly due to his own idiocy.

Pavlik is pretty good, I should give him more credit actually, highly flawed, but powerful and efficient.

Miranda is a TV level fighter at best.

and that wasnt kesslers best performence,he had a backinjuri, weeks before the fight, and was fighting anyway...kessler was saying after the fight that he was only able to give 30% because he was injured...who knows.he won.

Nah Kessler was able to give more than 30% I think you are painting a rosy picture here :good. I remember him saying in an interview that he was fighting at 80% of his full ability.

    My unbiased verdict.

Kessler and Mundine to B level fighters well matched. Kessler slow and methodical/unspectacular.

A rugby League player vs a standard World champion.

Both get blown away @ elite level

Well that's obviously not the case and discredits your whole opinion. Watch the 2nd video, slow Pavlik and slow Miranda to see slow.

Kessler shows quick reflexes, fast hands and good footspeed in there, as well as very fast delivery speed in his shots and that's against the 2nd fastest guy at SMW in Mundine, who's only slower than Calzaghe.

If Kessler were SLOW like you say, Mundine would have been dancing around him all night and timing shots on him all night.

I think Pavlik is very much aware of his flaws and the Miranda fight showed that he was. Being willing to back Miranda up like that must in my view mean that he knew he didn't have the defence to avoid being decked by consecutive punishment from Miranda in a fight going the distance.
You got to respect a man who comes to terms with his limitations and adapts his gameplan accordingly.

Kessler is among the most over rated fighters so far this decade.

If there was ever the case of the Tommy morrison scenario this is it right here. a good looking white guy who can fight a little bit, been turned into a superman by stupid fans and media.
