Kessler vs. Mundine highlight.

Kessler would outbox Pavlik easily and when they got into exchanges Kessler has an iron chin and Pavlik doesn't. Kessler will dismantle Pavlik should they ever meet.

 

Krisv1 just doesn't think much of Kessler - I don't think anything you say will change that.

 

I like Kessler alot, hes a good fighter and a good role model, but i am speaking about his chances as an Elite fighter. on the subject of Pavlik,,,,,Pavlik has proved he can be successfull @ Elite level. He can also show he can adapt. Hes too consistant a pressure fighter for Kessler to beat . Kessler goes back in straight lines, hes going to be so easy to hit for Pavlik whos best punches are straight punches.

I didn't say that you disliked him, just that you don't think much of him as a fighter. How can you so easily dismiss his record (prior to Calzaghe)? Don't give me that 'he fought bums' BS. It seems that every fighter fights bums, and in turn is considered a bum by others.

 

Got to love those commentators... when ever Kessler lands they go: "Mundine took that well" ... after round 4: "I have to give this one for Kessler" - well dohh - Mundine landed one shot that round Kessler about 50 - so yes that one has to go to Kessler.

Round 3 was Mundine's best in that fight.

 

Pavlik has not proved he can get to elite level. He barely got past Taylor twice (I thought he lost the 2nd time). Not a good sign if you want to be considered elite. Dont get fame mixed up with ability.

 

Those commentators are so far up Mundines asscrack it's hillarious. I just love the commentating in between the rounds: "[...] and then the taunting from Mundine [...]" That really cracks me up:rofl

 

Kessler often moves back strait - but always ready to counter always in the right distance - just ask Beyer

When Pavlik goes after Kessler when Kessler moves strait back he'll find that his punch just missed Kessler and feel Kessler counter.

As for this "elite-discussion" ... simply can't be borthered. Those discussions are always so f*cking bias it's senceless. Calzaghe isn't elite - well who the hell is then? - he has been champion for +10 years unified the division ... Hopkins is elite for doing the same thing - although losing twice to Taylor, who ganted is a good fighter but no where near legend - which Pavlik has showed us twice now. Once Calzaghe beats him, well then of course Hopkins was just too old...

As for Kessler - he isn't elite - but he might be some day he has got the potentional - but he has also got something even more important - the will to find out - the will to go for the best opponents even in their backyard if he has to. Many boxers could learn from that!

 

Problem for your prediction is that Kessler has a much better jab than Pavlik, is much faster, has a tighter defence, is far less wide when attacking and oh...has a far better chin.
Pavliks only showing at "elite" level is Taylor. That is laughable you think Calzaghe was not elite but Taylor is.atsch:rofl

Pavlik has more power and that is his only benefit over Kessler, problem being that Kessler has a solid chin and will land at will on wide open, slow Pavlik.

Did you actually watch the fight? When Joe attacked & pressured Kessler countered on the backfoot and connected several times; pressure doesn't bother him so much. It was only when Joe switched styles did he walk away with the fight

Yes, I hate the Aussie commentators. They are so biased it's crazy! (That coming from an Australian).

Mundine is very talented. Needs to be more active though, doesn't really throw as much as he should at times.

 

i don't think you can truly compare kessler, mundine, miranda and pavlik by virtue of the two different highlights reels, styles and match-ups make for different fights, looks like pavlik got sucked into a brawl with miranda, he'd fight different tactics against kessler for sure. i'd love to see that fight though. forget pavlik v calzaghe - that'd just be a re-run of lacy v calzaghe with joe winning at least 10 rounds in a one-sided UD/late stoppage; kessler v pavlik would be a cracking match-up. too close to call i reckon. kessler has the better defence and more speed, pavlik more powerful with a huge heart/refusal to be beaten. would be a proper tear-up.

Mundine lost that fight more than Kessler won it, he ran scared most of the fight for god knows what reason.

I rate Kessler a good boxer nothing more nothing less. Kessler is robotish, Mundine was a fairy.

Mundine can beat him in the rematch.

 

Kessler was what like 70% in that fight. not even.
