    What a waste of time.

Kessler has already outclassed Mundine, a fight for a paper championship is not what Mikkel needs at this point IMO.

Kessler could have still fought Miranda and then fought Mundine

They'll probably strip Joe and Mundine will be gifted the full version. Sad but true.

Not many people would call Miranda a "tune up" type of opponant.

I read that Kessler is Mundine's mandatory. The WBA should stop this bull****. How can Mundine have a mandatory if Calzaghe is still champ?!?! The WBA need to stop this regular/super champ crap. From what I've heard Calzaghe could well be defending that belt against Pavlik, otherwise it's a smart move by Kessler as the "regular" champ will suddenly become the "super" champ if Calzaghe does vacate. Kessler-Miranda for a belt later this year or next would be bigger than the fight is now

Frank Warren did say that Joe won't be vacating any titles, but I'm sure that the WBA sanctioning fee would be significant, so why not **** that off and just fight for the WBC/WBO and add the fee money to the purses?

Im looking forward to Kessler ending Mundine's run as an alleged contender. The man is the king of the paper Tigers.

Good news! Miranda fight would've been fun but I think this will be more competitive.

the super champ is the one who doesn't have mandatories

the regular champ is the one who does.

its really quite simple and makes alot of sense.

I see where you're coming from but I just think it's unnecessary. With the four major belts plus the proliferation of bodies as the WBU etc there are more than enough titles to go around without the need for 'regular" and 'super' champs. I just find it unacceptable to keep reading that Mundine is the 'WBA Super Middleweight Champion'

I thought the WBA rules stated that you couldn't fight for the belt coming off a loss?
Anyhow the WBA haven't been asked to sanction Mundine v Soliman III so Kessler is pulling the mandatory card so either Mundine fights Soliman and vacates or he has to fight his mandatory v Kessler which means cancelling the Soliman match.
