Kessler vs Pavlik Who wins?

Kessler by demolition. Total control, dismantles Pavlik in a one sided thrashing and stops him around the 7th.

 

Hmm, yeah, all those times he was ko'd with a straight right really highlight that vulnerability....:?

 

Do you honestly think thats all there was too Calzaghe? That he was just a pressure fighter? Calzaghe loved fight upright, orthodox guys like Pavlik. He'd have totally outmanouvered KP.
I give Pavlik an outside shot against Kessler. He'd probably loose the majority of the rounds due to Kesslers superior jab and movement but there's a vulnerabilty to MK (bodyshots by JC,right hand by Sartison) that would give Pavlik some reason to believe. Could be a rough night for Kessler although I'd make him favourite.

 

And when Pavlik beats him we will hear he waited until AA was having trouble making weight. No win situation for Pavlik here. But truth is, AA has been having trouble making weight for a while and I think it affects opponent selection just like it did for JT.

 

Actually that was close to 3 years ago. In 2006 Pavlik fought Leonard Pierre at a catch weight. He was looking at moving up. The problem was not weight so much as Abraham, Wright, and Taylor ignoring him.

 

I dreamed last night that Pavlik and Abraham fought and that Pavlik knocked him out in the first round

 

Since when has calzaghe not been able to fight on the backfoot? Hes better on the backfoot, he said it himself! he likes fighters who come towards him like Mitchell and Lacy and look what happened to those two......ouch.

The kelly pavlik that fought Bhop would have been TKOD by Calzaghe cos plain and simple Kelly Pavlik tired against a 43 year old Bhop who faked low blows in the cal fight to catch his breath.

Calzaghe wins via 10 round TKO due to Pavliks lack of endurance and Calzaghes punch output (and thats me being kind)

Kessler wins via 8th round KO due again to Pavliks lack of endurance at the weight and Kesslers big uppercuts that will hurt pavlik and put him down cos if he gets hit by punches like that when hes tired he is going down

 

As big of KP fan as I am, and as much as I think AA is seriously over rated, THAT ain't gonna happen. Cool dream though.

 

sorry but that is not the case with joe his style is what would lead to his win over Kp. Kp would need to have a few back up plans in order to get the W my point is proven with his inability to make the proper changes in the B-hop fight and Lowe's inablity to give proper instruction or devise a proper game plan . Does Kp have the Ability to beat joe yes but only with the proper game plans.

 

endurance is one thing KP has plenty of. it's possiblie if Joe's hands are right that he could get a stoppage by the ref. or maybe loew will throw in the towel but as long as Kp could keep going he would. he has plenty of endurace and can take alot of punishment

 

Pavlik has endurance in spades. The Hopkins fight is not an accurate guage, but even in that fight the 9th and 10th rounds were his best rounds. Pavlik/Taylor II was fought at a fairly quick pace, and KP never really took charge until the 11th. You have to remember that according to the average Calzaghe fan, Kid Diamond can beat KP.

yeah thats becuase the average Calzaghe fan is either looking at it on a nationalitic level and there for are biased or haven't realy studied his fights . JOe is one of my All time favorite fighter and although he is unbeaten he's not unbeatable. JOe is a rare fighter that is able to make kid fight adjustment on the fly combine that with his natural ability and speed. along with underated power and he's a demon fo any one in any era.

thing kelly has all the tools to beat joe he just needs the right game plan. anybody underating Kp is a fool.

You haven't dealt with my points. Pavlik is a pressure fighter who beats up other pressure fighters. Calzaghe is a pressure fighter, but with less power and a worse chin, and a glaring weakness for straight right hands. Don't you see where this is going?

Pavlik wasn't losing that fight for tactical reasons, he was just a corpse.

When Loew said Pavlik would back Miranda up, they laughed in his face. Pavlik did it and Miranda capitulated. Loew said Pavlik would outjab Taylor and they said he was crazy. Pavlik wore him down with the jab and used it to unlock the right hand. Loew isn't dumb to strategy.

 

Someone close to Kelly's camp used the words, "after Kelly fights Abraham in November......." No. I can't point to a source on this one, but it seems Kelly's camp thinks this fight WILL happen in November. :thumbsup
