However, this fight may never happen. Pavlik will stay at 160 longer than they were planning. He won't move up next year. when is forced to go to 168, I think they'll take their time and fight some tune-ups before going after a top guy. Kessler already has trouble making 168. By the time KP gets there, Mikell will be at 175. However, the fact remains, Kessler ain't Hopkins; not even close.

Pavlik either has to stay at 160 or put the proper weight on before stepping up again. No more back and forth.

Dont think this fight will be on for many years if at all.

Pav will fight at MW now for the next few years to settle down again and nail down number 1 in the division.

I think Pav will target Rubio and Sturm. If Mundine gets a title Pav may look at him and Geale with the IBO title.

Kess will maybe fight the winner of Bute VS Andrade or huge fights with AA or Taylor.

By the time Pav moveS up to SMW Kess will be on his way to LHW.

Where does this "Kessler already has trouble staying at 168" come from?

Kessler has never said that. On the contrary, he has said that he has NO problems with his weight and that he walks around at 170-172 (Calzaghe in comparison walks around at 190!). Furthermore, Kessler has said that he would gladly fight Pavlik at 160 or catchweight 164 (this was before the Hopkins fight).

Kessler may LOOK big on photos, but he is the same height as Taylor, and SHORTER reach.

    Quote from the aussie forum....

It always spins me out that a guy like Taylor who is 6"1 is only 72kgs :huh

I mean he looks solid and muscular but **** is he light....same with guys like Kessler and CO.

I am 6"3 and 116kgs......I have trained hard in the past and got ripped down to 92kgs but was I drained.

I have some gym mates at 6" 88kgs ripped that look as solid as Taylor but 72kgs how does he do it?

Quote from the Australian forum. Well, it is wrong. Kessler is smaller than Taylor and both shorter and shorter reach than Pavlik, so no he is not having problems staying at 168. In fact he has recently offered to go to 160 or fight at 164. Just to get that straight.

I know. I would just like to get the thread back on topic, because otherwise the myth ("Kessler is having trouble making SMW") keeps going. :good

Kessler will never fight Pavlik, unless the money is there.
Which media profiled fighter should (would) fight him?

Taylor - low reward, huge risk

    Pavlik - same

    Bute - will not

In hindsight Pantera was the perfect option. It isnt quite the same after Abraham.

    Kessler will need something similar.

The problem in a nutshell, the americans in SMW sucks - remember how many years Calzaghe waited for his Lacy. Kesslers career might suck for a couple of years.

Please stop making up things. Kessler has said many times that he has no problems making 168 and that he would be happy to fight Pavlik on catchweight 164.
