WHy do we have to wait? The final in in a few weeks the winner or loser should be fighting Bute not waiting about for this fight to happen.

I like Kessler a person...i think es a cool guy...and really dont hold **** against this generation of fighters because all of them have no shame with some of the crap the fight after they reach elite status.... kessler the last 4 years was in his prime...he should have been more active and if you arent gonna be active, dont waste fights on garbage like this

    Kessler 40-1
    vs
    Danilo Haussler

defending his wba strap against a guy
coming off a draw and beore that a string of 8 round decesion wins

    Kessler 41-1
    vs
    Gus Pedromo 16-2

absolute farce of a fight and defense

    Kessler 43-2
    vs
    Mehdi Bouadla 22-3

made sure he could find the lamest duck in the world...
whens the last time you saw a frech fighter that could
kick someones ass? this guy was padding his record with 5-19-4 fighters
then steps up to this kessler grade talent?

he is not 28 anymore, true, and he may loose to top boys now but not to all of them.in fact,he beat froch who is ranked above him in 2010,that's last year if we don't count the months.and even if he lost to ward that was a disgraceful performance by the referee.with bute he can win or he can loose but it will be war,so no,he is not shot and he is not a shadow,he has some fights left in him.

very nice only you forgot to mention the ward fight which was after pedromo and before froch.so you have pedromo, war, froch and bouadla.so that's 2 A level fighters within 2 years out of 4 fights.coming out 1-1 and considering he is old, shot and injures himself alot i'd say that's pretty impressive

The first two of those garbage fights was mandatories. The third was a tune-up after a year off with a serious injury. Pick some other fights please.

i didnt mention froch or ward because they would conflict with my original statement.....
basically saying once you reach that status of elite, (he already fought joe c, already had won his wba title ect, ) and you have over 40 fights....there are ALOT of other guys that dont have to be # 1 or #2 to fight, but better than those over matched scrubs that served as a waste of time....
and yeah i get it, everyone has their "excuses" that this guy sucked but he was a mandatory
take a page out of andre bertos book - he just gave up his belt rathan than fight a "mandatory" and went to a high profile bigger money fight

me and you have been over this....
i like your boy.....but god damn man, when you waste fights on garbage and "mandatorys" instead of fights that mean something...and then injuries happen...then you look by after 5 years and see 2 names......
by the time he fights this Stielgtiz clown for that WBO belt.....2 years will have passed since his fight with Froch

Mehdi Bouadla the french super middleweight champion :huh

Robert Stieglitz the only name at 168 that NEVER gets mentioned as a serious name.....the only time he even became known was when Kessler attached his name to it

its got to **** you off that your favorite fighter is a ghost most of the time... where as i as a boxing fan would like to see him fighting names and not for trinket belts

You probably don't remember the aftermath of the Calzaghe fight. Kessler issued a challenge to every big name out there, travelled to Calzaghe's fight with Hopkins, offered Hopkins a whopping 4M USD for a fight but in the end failed to secure anything meaningfull.

After that he had an ugly split with his promotor and signed with Team Sauerland because of the supersix.

As for Stieglitz well I think it's the perfect fight for him at this point. Stieglitz is tailormade for Kessler to look good but also tough enough to give a good fight and it will show wheter Kessler has enough left to tackle Ward/Froch/Bute.
