Would a prime Jones, or somewhat faded Jones, lose 3 or 4 rounds to Felix Trinidad, win a decision over Prince Badi Ajamu, or show vulnerabilities against Anthony Hanshaw? No Face it, as sad as it is, Roy is shot
I agree with pretty much all you said other than Kessler bring very good. He's not proven as far as i'm concerned.
Anthony Mundine is a very good fighter (better than Pavlik or Taylor) and Kessler dominated him, winning about 9 rounds. He also beat Andrade 12-0 - not an easy task given Andrade's mental fortitude and titanium chin. Kessler's very proven
um im not using that as an excuse....that is in reference to 3 years ago....Roys body has adjusted back to his normal weight....his hand speed is still there...his legs dont matter because he developed that WINKY Turtle Shell defense....by the time Kessler lets 1 punch go RJJ will have hit him with 5 counters to the body and head...he will be target practice:-((
Because he's far more skilled from a technical standpoint, has superior timing, superior speed, defense, footwork, and better accuracy/punch variety. In these departments, Mundine clearly edges them. In the intangables department, Pavlik has more toughness and willingness to mix it up. Mundine is a damn good fighter. Watch his fight against Danny Green.
Not really. Kessler has an underrated defense. He does a lot of subtle things in there that make it tough for people to hit him. And Jones doesn't have the reflexes to pull off his sudden 5 punch counters anymore.
Mundine is much better than Taylor in every aspect of boxing and would beat him H2H. He has much faster hands, hits harder, better defence better footwork, much much better defence, better reflex's Pavlik always has a massive punch to get him out of trouble, but if it went the distance Mundine would win and comfortably. You should watch some Mundine fights man he is good.
I respect you and Brooklyn's posts but man this is a tough one. I think he's good but i wouldn't say he could beat either Taylor or Pavlik. However, I'll admit that i havn't seen much of him but isnt he in his mid 30's?
He started to box late on in life, he used to be a proffesional rugby league player. He is damn good, he has slightly faster hands than Calzaghe and when Calzaghe moves out he is number 2 H2H at SMW for me, I would take him over Bute.
Yeah, Mundine is getting older and he probably doesn't have much time left to accomplish anything significant, unless he steps up his competition. I'd pick him over everybody at 168 except Calzaghe and Kessler.
