So you're afraid Calzaghe is not fighting RJJ. Is that what you are saying?:smoke

Calzaghe IS fighting RJJ! This means Kessler won't. This is the problem.

It gets kind of annoying when you start talking like GOD himself. You make it sound as if you know better. I believe Warren know something here but you...I mean why would you?

Everything I say, I say just stating an opinion.:good (Obviously!);)

Warren knows better? Last thing I heard was that Calzaghe wanted to fight RJJ in his fare-well fight in Cardiff. RJJ wanted to fight Calzaghe in Cardiff too. Why would you assume this deal would fall through? Why would Warren not want this fight to happen?

Why do you assume Pavlik would be interested in fighting Calzaghe and what makes you think Calzaghe still wants that fight, after his performance against Hopkins?:think

He cooled all the Pavlik talk after his performance against Hopkins. He's just not the same draw in America that he thought he'd be...

Well, I didn't mention Pavlik myself but now that you bring it up I personally would love to see Calzaghe-Pavlik. If you recall some of my previous posts on Calzaghes resume, I've been hitting a little bit on the lack of prime fighters fought in hostile territory. Pavlik in Ohio would IMO do a lot more for Calzaghe's legacy than the veteran tour he initiated with the Hopkins fight. I'm perfectly aware that I go against the hardcore Calzaghe fans's points of view, and probably yours, but at the same time I believe my view is supported by objective facts instead of fan emotions. I also think that Pavlik, like Kessler, firmly believe he can KO Calzaghe. You know, Calzaghe is in most peoples opinion on ESB not one that scares his opponents with his style, he outpoints them convincingly.;)

I don't care what Calzaghe does from now on, to be honest. His legacy fight was against Kessler. He's in it just for the money now.

I'd like to see him against Dawson. Pavlik would be OK too, I guess, but Pavlik would be smaller, since he wouldn't have time to build up properly, so the fight wouldn't really mean so much in legacy terms...But yeah...I'd prefer Pavlik to RJJ too...but I'm not bothered about anything Calzaghe does anymore, really...

The thing is: Pavlik doesn't look like he is interested in this fight (anymore). Calzaghe also seems to have poured cold water on the idea, lately. He has resigned himself to the thought that he's fighting RJJ and that's it.

I wouldn't put my hopes up about Calzaghe v. Pavlik and thus Kessler v. RJJ...it's a very long shot, I think.

But...please yourself. You have been hoping for a Calzaghe rematch too, so...this, I guess, is slightly less unlikely!:D

I tried hard to follow your line of thinking here but I was left with "He's in it just for the money now." I like Calzaghe for being honest about it. He said it in more than one interview.

I disagree that Calzaghe-Jones is a sure thing. Pavlik is popular right now, and even with his staying name power Jones might not be as lucrative a dance partnet at this stage.

I'm all for a sequence of events that involves Calzaghe demolishing Pavlik and Kessler getting a chance to dominate Roy and acquire a 'signature' win...setting up the rematch I so desire. :D

Calzaghes hardly going to come out and say 'I wanna beat up Pavlik' when his stablemate Gary Lockett is Pavliks next fight!
Although RJJ is the favourite to fight Calzaghe in November, who knows maybe Jack Loew's recent slagging off of Joe means that that fight may take place towards the end of the year.
If Pavlik doesnt that 2nd bum then maybe he'll have a dab at Calzaghe - I hope so!

Palle's doing Kessler a disservice. The only positive that can be taken from this is that Kessler will be a 2-time champion although this belt will be of the paper variety. :-(
