Interesting theory, its a shame Kessler beating him kind of put a dampener on it.

a fully fit Kessler is a match for anyone, heart of a warrior and has proven to be a worthy champion.

if he makes a return and his health is 100% he has options at the tale end of this year. Kessler has stated that he intends to return this year, some think he is slightly tight at the weight, but he seems to live right and always is in shape.

kessler from 2007 that fought calzaghe would have put a serious beating on Froch i think kessler from the days of andrade/mundine etc was a different fighter to what we see today, the kessler of current has less speed and poorer footwork and seems generally sloppy, the fact that he took it so easy after the calzaghe fight and perhaps the loss of confidence against ward may have deteriorated him more.

He may have beaten Froch but out of the two he looked far worse at the end. Froch could easily win a rematch, it was close.

:rofl And what? What is it, a beauty contest after 12 rounds are completed? Meaningless.

Froch got outhustled, backed up, and the wind was taken out of his sails to the body and he lost. Unfortunately people like to make a ton of excuses and claim that somehow he's still a better fighter even though the evidence suggested otherwise.

Stieglitz has improved himself (and impressed against Andrade), but Kessler ought to stop him if he fancies himself viable at the elite level herein.

KingCobra was probably driving at "if it had been a 15 rounder Kessler would have been ****ed" or something, but the answer to that is the same as it is in regards to similar statements made about Bute-Andrade I or any other instance in the 12 round championship era..."WE ARE IN A 12 ROUND CHAMPIONSHIP ERA!" :deal.

Inside the 12 rounds scheduled, Kessler did enough work to earn the nod as you said. :thumbsup

    I am thinking this.

    March - Bute beats Magee
May - Ward and Froch win SS Semi's
    June - Kessler beats Steilgritz
July - Bute beats Mendy (mandatory)
November - Carl Froch vs Andre Ward (WBC & WBC Super Middleweight & Super Six Final)
December - Lucian Bute vs Mikkell Kessler (IBF & WBO Super Middleweight)

    2012

Winner vs Winner for all the marbles.

That would be beautiful and well worth its own 'Four Kings' retrospective.

Although I thought Kessler won i did get the feeling we saw the very best Kessler and not the best Froch that night. I would highly fancy Froch in a rematch.

What an excellent action fight this will be. Let's remember kessler was hugely competitive with froch over twelve rounds, he should wear stieglitz down and stop him.

Bute should face either pavlick or dirrell imo or if is going to get bypassed.

Already he has dropped out of the top 3 imo so he needs a big win soon.

The IBF will throw a spanner in the works by nominating some one armed spastic as mandatory.

    Probably a Saffie

Bute can get his mandatory out of the way in the summer. not much difference between Mendy (his mando) and Magee.

Even as loyal fan of the cobra you have to accept he lost, but after the beating he gave kessler i think hed start to crumble after those shots started to fly again. After that fight he had to take almost a year out to heal up, also Froch realising he cant just take every shot and walk through everyone has been good for him.

even though Kessler was injured prior to the Calzaghe fight he did push Joe all the way but afterwards had serious problems with his danish promoter who was more intent in detroying his career rather than let Kessler sign with another promoter.
