There are rumors that Sturm wants to go to SMW now that he has been at MW forever - and snce Chavez is not leaving the US the biggest fight in Germany would be Kessler vs Sturm. Who do you have?
Who knows. Sauerland says that the options are open and the even MW is an option.. This fight was just the best they could make in the short time they had to make it.
Kessler is a different weight class. If they would fight in middleweight I would go with Sturm. His jab is awesome. Sturm really has improved over the last couple of years while Kessler stagnated. It's impossible to say who would win but I'd favor today's Sturm over Kessler.
None of them has a title in SMW so very risky for both fighters a little reward. I hope Sturm goes after Martinez and Kessler for Flopkins or Cloud.
Personally, I think that if Kessler as we know him turns up.. he would win either 120-108 or on a stoppage. He would control Sturm completely.
kessler was getting caught by jab's from his previous shitty opponent, i think kessler past his best, and he's been past his best since Mr.C ruined him. i'd favor strum to win a decision, he'd catch mikkle all day long with that jab.
I doubt Kessler can make 160. If Kessler can make the weight he would blast Sturm out of the ring. @ 168 Kessler would win anyway
In Danish and German medias Kessler has often aired the idea of fighting in MW if a big fight was possible. In one of his latest interviews he even talked about a fight against Martinez. Kessler started out in LMW at about 150 pounds.
Kessler late TKO. A very good SMW beats a pretty good MW who does a lot of the same things about as well but lacks anything close to the same power even at his native weight, let alone after climbing up.
