Kessler comes from a loss, don't forget...he will want to win next and he will want to win against the best rated guy out there.

Bute WILL NOT fight Kessler in 2008...he said he is not ready to fight fighters of Joe's and Mikkel's calibre...earliest Bute would agree to fight Kessler in 2009 - you can take Bute our of this equation for now...That leaves Mundine, who is Top 3-4...

That leaves Lacy...well, Lacy is not what he used to be...but he still makes Top 10...a win against Lacy would mean little right now...

A Mundine VS Lacy fight would go down well early next year....dont know what Lacy is upto but this would make for an interesting fight and will shed some light on who is the number 2 and 3 of the division.

If Calzaghe moves up to LHW, vacating the WBA SWM belt, Mundine inherits the full version of it, instead of the second-tier version he currently holds.

Somehow I don't think Mundine will want to risk losing it by facing Kessler too soon - Mundine was only interested in Kessler when Kessler had something he wanted (the WBA SMW belt).

I wouldn't be surprised if we hear "He didn't grant me an immediate rematch" from Mundine as an excuse for avoiding Kessler.

Besides, Kessler's stocks are high after the Calzaghe fight - he'll have no trouble getting back into the mix at SMW, especially with the American interest in him...he doesn't need Mundine.

The thing with Kessler being beaten is that it opens up many doors for Mundine. There will basically be 3/4 title vacancies now. He wants the Kessler rematch but if there is an easier way to get a title then he will shoot for it. Danny winning will be the first logical step

Kessler will be Mundines mandatory if Joe Vacates, and Mundine had to fight Kessler last time Muttley otherwise he would of been stripped of his number 1 wba ranking. Won't be long till Kess has a belt again even if it's Mundines paper one, but Kessler will defend it against real fighters and not use it as a circus act that Mundine has done with it.

If Kess and Mundine do fight again I think Mundine might have a better game plan in light of what Joe did to Kess.

I think Mundine may be a bit more confident and give it a better shake this time round.....still think Kess will win by a few rounds but look for a better show from Mundine.

    This is my feeling too.

He has the skills to trouble Kess.

cant see joe`s formula of beating kessler being a formula for mundine to beat kessler.

basically joe did to kessler what mundine did to kessler for 1 minute at the end of round 4, but calzaghe did it for 36 mins and had to be willing to walk onto and through some kessler bombs amd it alos helped that calzaghe was bigger than mundine and did not have to overeach and punch up.

Yeah I was thinking that the whole entire time leading up to their fight. Joe would have watched the Mundine fight and saw some tid bits of how to beat Kessler.

Mundine can use his strengths to get to Kessler just like Joe used his.

to beat kessler the calzaghe way, mundine is going to have to take risks , stay in the pocket and let his hands go non stop, while slipping counters and bombs and jabs and fight straight back when you get caught.

    that was calzaghe`s formula.

good point about calzaghe watching the mundine fight though teke.

enzo and joe would have definatly studied that fight over and over , as no other kessler fight i have seen would have led to any encouragment of what to do when faced with kessler.

Calzaghe controlled the fight with his jab, i dont think Mundine can do that. The main reason Calzaghe's jab was so effective was because hes an southpaw, Mundine is not and doesnt have a better jab than Kessler. I see this fight going the same way as the first, infact it could be a late KO. Mundine may be less timid and throw more punches, leaving more opportunities for Kessler to land his big punches.

It'd be a hard fight for Mundine. Kessler's punches looked like they lacked a bit of snap last time they fought, but against Calzaghe when he wasn't throwing at his usual rate, they looked hard and painful, a bit too painful for Mundine I feel.

have a feeling that kessler might very well vacate the weight class and move up to lhw as well.
