Kessler was the champ when he fought Ward, he came to Oakland, Froch was a champ when he had his unification fight with Ward and he had to come to the US. The "he's the champ so they should come to him" argument is bullcrap! Especially where Ward's concerned. Both Kessler and Froch travelled to Ward's country to put their titles on the line, Kessler went to Ward hometown, so its pathetic that Ward's fanboys are trying to promote the argument that Ward's entirely justified in refusing to leave his country to defend his titles. If the best potential opponents for Ward were Americans, or based in America, then it would be entirely justifiable to say there's no need to fight abroad, but Ward's best potential opponents are a Dane - Kessler - and Brit - Froch - both of whom went to his country to fight him, brought their titles to his home nation or home town. And if Froch and Kessler continue to win, then Ward will either have to fight them again or move up or else he'll rot for years fighting nobodies. If Ward was all that he's being made out to be then it wouldn't matter where he fought anyone in his division, he'd still win, so why do his fanboys go out of their way to excuse him?
ive heard a lot of comments stating Ward 'doesnt have to leave the States'! why do people always hide behind these sort of comments. lets see how he reacts to a baying overses crowd. that is the mark of a true world champion. world means world.
Kessler must be a glutton for punishment. If anything Ward has gotten better since he handed Kessler his ass in the super 6. Usually one beating is enough for anyman. I want to see a rematch of this in Denmark about as much as I want to see a rematch of Klitschko-Kingpin in America.
Like most fans, I want to see competitve fights. Not fights where one guy is clearly superior to the other and who already has an easy victory over the other. Only fight id be interested in seeing Ward take at SMW now is Dirrell if he shows some old form. Even Pavlik is at least something new and is a big name.
So you would rather watch Ward - Pavlik, then Ward - Kessler or Ward - Froch.... Like I said... A fan of boxing...

Ive already seen Ward school both these fighters. Maybe you like watching re-runs. I dont. I dont want to see Wlad fight Chagaev again. I dont want to see Martinez fight Barker again. I dont want to see Pacquiao fight Clottey again. If this doesnt make me a boxing fan. So be it.
