ever since loosing to calzaghes hes looked horrible in every fight, even against a clubfighter like perdoma he was getting tagged up and outboxed, and thats just sad.

Froch will beat the hell out of him and send him to retirement.:rasta

I think the Calzaghe fight was his moment and gave it everything he had then. Not sure he can ever raise the bar that high again. Shame.

A top notch boxer always has the ability within him to muster a second wind.

He needs motivation and sometimes a change in circumstance to freshen up the old routine.

He has both in the bag for the upcoming ruck with Froch.

A huge motivation to regain a world title in front of his home fans and in order to stay alive in the super six... and a new trainer.

This fight has all the hallmarks of a classic.

I am looking forward to it more than both Pac/Clottey and Pbf/Mosley fights.

He struggled with his style for 2-3 rounds. He has struggled before and he will struggle again. He will beat Froch though.

He was an excellent fighter when he fought Calzaghe and he's an excellent fighter now. Just because Ward did a better job on him must mean he's shot I suppose? I watched his fights after JC and he did what he had to do - beat clearly inferior opponents without moving out of second gear.

I think Froch is the perfect fight at the perfect time. Coming off a loss he gets the opportunity to immediately win another world title - an opportunity I think he'll take. Froch has tremendous heart but he's a sucker for a good jab, and a good one-two. This just happens to be Kesslers forte. I think Froch will be walking into those punches all night. He'll make it as hard/rough on Kessler as he can but it won't be enough.

    Kessler by comfortable UD.

the good Ol' Calzaghe Ruined him theory ..... what a load of bull****. Calzaghe is not the type of fighter than "ruins" boxers... not saying he not great, but don't post bull**** like this

I think this mythical idea that Kessler was, at any time in his career, a Great fighter is a bit laughable. He's always been a good champion, not a great fighter, and there have been a lot of external issues that have lead to a decline in his performance levels, I think. Inactivity being a major problem.

They just say that to discredit Ward's victory over Kessler.

Calzaghe played a huge part in ruining Lacy.

    calzaghe didnt ruin anything.

the loss, yes had some influence, likewise did a long layoff, the promotor issues with scumbag palle and injuries.

    it wasnt just one thing.

I would say Calzaghe Exposed Lacy, even to himself .. lacy was possibly mentally exposed by Calzaghe

Good post. I do agree that the rest of the tournament is good for Kessler. First, Froch. Then, Green. He has a good chance to win both fights. He would then finish 2nd or 3rd (that is if Ward stays unbeaten). If he can avoid Ward until the final, he's ok for a good run.

Only on the kneejerk fanboy drama queen forum could a competitive points loss in your more experienced opponent's backyard be said to "ruin" a fighter. Absolutely absurd. In the Calzaghe fight Kessler fought well, did himself proud, took virtually no punishment, wasn't embarrassed at all nor even close to it, and moved on. Grow the **** up.
