Yes, you are right. I've been trying to figure out where that tired'ness came from. After all he's seven years younger than JC. Do you think he put too much energy into big punches and that together with JC hitting him got him tired prematurely? (Just to put thinks in perspective, JC was tired as well at the end.)

I suspect his next fight will be a title fight for one of the belts he just lost, after Joe vacates.

Yes, and the best man won.
But Kessler can do better, you could tell from round one that Kessler had to much respecth for Joe, Cardiff or the hole set up.
The way he fought in round 12, showed the real Kessler.
He learnd a lesson and still made a great fight, he'll come back stronger.
I'm not taking anything away from Calzaghe, he's brilliant!

Calzaghe definitly gave Kessler a lesson but it will be one that he gets better from. Kessler needed to let his hands go more. Calzaghe was willing to trade and that should have been good for Kessler. He will definitely win a belt again. He has a lot of young bucks coming up though that could make for some entertaining fights like Bute, Pascal, Miranda, Taylor. All would make for some great fights

After 12 rounds, it's natural to feel tired but Kessler just seemed to completely drop off. That's quite worrying. Calzaghe's fitness is incredible, probably the fittest guy out there north of 160lbs. Being hit so many times by Joe tires you physically and mentally. Kessler would have been constantly trying to think of ways to get through but by the time he thought about them, Joe had stuck a jab in his face. I guess the fight didn't go how Mikkel imagined, and the realisation bit was the last few rounds.

Kessler's chin definitely looms as a question mark. He seemed bothered to be punched, and you really have to wonder what will happen if he eventually makes his to 175.

Still, after Calzaghe, I think he's far and away better than anyone at 168 or 160.
