No he used headbutts to win, which is illegal and counts for little except amongst the bias and cheats
Very sad for Kessler and for all of us who´s followed him since he turned pro... Here in denmark he is a HUGE name, and a great ambassador for the sport. I have had the pleasure of watch him fight 3 times in denmark, latest in herning against Carl froch. Great fight as usual!! But who knew it could be his last fight.... but he had been in some tough fights the last couple of times,so injuri or not,a break from the sport will suit him well i think!! Kessler would have continued the super 6,but Coach Jimmi Montoya dinied him that!! Hopefully Kessler will recover 100% from the injury, and then make a final dicicion on what to do.. But nomatter what he dicide to do,he has giving us some great moments, and that is what he will be remembered for. But its a chok for us danish fans and for all fans, cus nobody knew anything... Thanks for everything Kessler, you are a star!!!
"Doomed"...that was it...that was the word I used... and then I took your scalps. your Owner, SKULLSPLITTER - The CEO
kessler fans are such crying little babies. he got roughed up by a golden boy gold medalist from the olympics with average power?? and he couldnt figure out a way to neutralize that? viking warrior is a really bad nickname for a guy to have that gets beat up and then cries about it the whole time. stfu kessler fans and get the F over it you bunch of babies
Kessler will fight again no doubt about that! This could actually be a blessing in disguise for Kessler, his body need to rest. And if he gets an opportunity to fight the Super six winner, he gets an "easy" way to the top of 168. Kessler has a frail body and have had chronical backproblems for years, and because of that he has only fought twice a year in a very long time, because his body needs to rest after fights.
The only people who deny that Ward deliberatly head-butted Kessler are Ward nuthuggers. I've also noticed a sinister denial which I suspect is solely based on race from certain posters. What a disgrace. Ward clearly beat Kessler, and was beating him to the punch. He didn't even need to use his head, but the fact remains that he did. And he did it deliberately several times. However, it will remain unknown whether that was the cause of Kessler's injury.
I'm a Caucasian and a Kessler fan, and don't consider Ward to have fought in an excessively dirty manner. Did he lead with his head a bit? Sure, but no more egregiously than many other fighters who were never penalized for it. He fought a smart fight, and Kessler didn't adapt. I don't think any one headbutt in the fight was a flagrant foul.
Come on man, even Showtime's Al Bernstein couldn't hide his incredulousness at one of Ward's headbutts. He commentated on a slow-motion replay of one of the headbutts which made Kessler scream in pain. His words were something like "Oh my, now Ward did charge in there with his head like a billy goat, let's be honest". The replay shows a blatantly obvious headbutt by Ward which caught Kessler full force on his eye causing a nasty, gushing cut.
I hope he stays retired and moves on with his life, its also cool that he got to retire with a big win as well
i'm sure you weren't moaning when holyfield was headbutting the guy in your avatar from one side of the ring to the other in their 2nd meeting mike found a way to neutralize it - bite like a ****in girl :rofl
