This is the purest bull****, dude.

Kessler aint no ATG or anything but you cannot have sen many of Kesslers fights if this is your opinion.

First of all, Perdomo ran out there and he was very clever to move his head as much as he did. He danced, feinted and generally looked like somebody who was really enjoying the fight - which was a very good approach instead of being scared of MK. Go watch the fight again, will you.

Second - Kessler was hurt by a JC bodyshot. I cannot recall that he was rattled several times. Go watch the fight if you like.

Third - Kessler has been extremely on top of things in almost every fight he has ever been in. Hes has almost won every single round. Excluding the Calzaghe fight. And you say hes got decent basics and decent power. Woaw. What about JMM, Cotto, Wlad etc? I guess you think they just have decent skills as well.
Disrespectfull in my opinion as these fighters are close to elite and they have beat many top 5 dudes in their respective divisions.

Theres no bull**** involved.Perdomo wanted out from the first clean punch Kessler landed.

As for losing rounds to Calzaghe ? Calzaghe is no ATG and was way past his best yet he beat Kessler and beat him pretty convincingly. All Kessler offered in the Calzaghe fight was his right uppercut.

Kessler being "on top of things" is as much to do with the quality of opposition he's fought as it is to do with his capabilities.

    JMM,Cotto,Wlad ?
Wlad is a good comparison to make as he's on top of a weak division as was Kessler.

Kessler's aura of greatness and invincibility seems to have been gained whilst he was inactive !!
He's a solid all rounder and nothing more.Kessler stepped up in class once and he was beaten.:good

First of all I just answered the false statements in your initial post and then you just write something new instead of keeping focus on the subjects. Thats a classic.

But let me answer this post then. Kessler lost to Calzaghe because Calzaghe has a sick workrate and Kessler just couldnt physically kep up. It was very competitive in the first 4-5 rounds and again in the 12th when Kessler had nothing to loose.

Kessler had more than just the uppercut. Thats a severe understatement of his performance in that fight.

Kessler has been "on top of things" against Mundine in Australia, Siaca, Andrade, Beyer, Lucas etc. He doesnt have the best resume but its decent and it was the best fighters to face at the time. The thing is though - which you missed - he has won almost every single round of boxing against the best possible opposition at the weight, over a period of at least 5 years.

Furthermore - you have to just dislike the Eurostandup style or something like that if you cannot see the extreme qualities in the way Kessler performs this specific style.

There is one thing in your post that I do agree with though. Kesslers popularity has raised considerably since loosing to Calzaghe. Some of the admiration might come from JC fanboys but I do think that Calzaghes statements about Kesslers abilities means something + the fight against Calzaghe is often refered to as one of the best technical fights in the last few years.

Good one. Can't remember the opponent, but Ali once said, "I'm so fast, he'll think he's surrounded!"

    Laudrup,
you have me all wrong my friend,i like Kessler, but i'm trying to be realistic with regards to his ability. The numbers on his record are excellent, but like i said the quality of opposition he's beaten isn't great.Yes he did what he had to do,but his resume lacks any big names apart from Calzaghe, and that was a loss.
I have no problem with his style of boxing, its effective, but in a list of all time best SMW's i don't think Kessler makes the top 10.Maybe he will dominate the super 6 and then we can decide just how good he really is,but for the time being i'll still label him a decent/solid performer.

Sorry you think me a hater,i'm far from it.:good

the one guy IMO that could trouble kessler is dirrel, but dirrel is going to lose to froch......i also think taylor could give kessler problems 1st half of the fight...

Agreed. Nothing Kessler has done yet has made me go wild. He's very good but he hasn't yet convinced me that he's great. I have Kessler and Froch tied at the moment. I think they'll both be in the final and I'm unsure who will take the prize. One thing I am confident about is that Froch would have blown away Shelby and Perdomo in the same or less time that Ward and Kessler dealth with them. Roll on Oct 17th
