Hopkins has the quick southpaw style down packed. If he loses it'll be a close one. Againt Kessler I don't think Hopkins could do much really.
Well, stylistically, Taylor gave him trouble with the long jab and straight right hand. Now amp that up about 2 levels, then you have Kessler 1-2.
I also think he is more dangerous. With Calzag he is looking at a chessmatch and with Kessler he would be trying to keep the guy off of him all night. It can be done but instead of losing by a few points to Calzag he would be more worn down in the late rounds and possibly put away. I think Hopkins should beat Kessler, but it could look like Tszyu/Hatton.
Kessler is the only fight at 168 where I don't give Hopkins much of a chance, Hopkins doesn't pressure like Calzaghe with gave Kessler big time problems and ultimately cost him the fight.
Kessler had to deal with Calzaghe throwing a HUGE number of punches, he could not get comfortable and set up his combos which he needs to do to be effective. Against Hopkins he can set up his combos and even though the Jab will not be very effective I feel he would get enough right hands in and be able to keep the distance, Kessler would have no chance on the inside against Hopkins and he knows it. Fast Orthodox fighters give Hopkins more problems than fast southpaws.
i think calzaghe and kessler would both beat bernard hopkins most hopkings wins ave been blown up welter weights hes a great fighter but he wouldnt live with calzaghe at this moment in time lets be honest fraziers hooks boxing knowledge sucks
I honestly dont know if anyone else can beat Hopkins that ******* is tricky as hell. I hate his figths since they are so boring but i have given him respect being that he always fights game opposition and comes out on top
