I wish that Kessler was better at putting them to sleep, however he keeps going and once he is in controll of the fight it is next to impossible to turn it arround. A Miranda fight makes no sence anymore, Miranda is damaged goods now and he probably never should have been held in such high regard.
It speaks loudly. He's a great technician, with solid power, much like Kelly Pavlik, just not a KO artist.......Like some have claimed. :yep One punch power = Abraham. Good technique + Accumalitive shots to wear opponents down, with GOOD solid power = Pavlik and Kessler.
He won 99-91, knocked him down twice and almost took him out at the end, had it been a 12 round fight it would have ended in the 11th.
I'd rather see a great technical battle fought than a quick KO. Being better at putting people to sleep means that Kessler needs to sit on his punches, and take unnecessary risks. That being said, yes, sometimes it would be nice.
I agree, I just didn't like you said "overrated power". It still takes power to take down people by accumulation. Beyer went down from a onetwo combo, and wasn't taken down on accumulation.
SPN: By the way, Green has a legitimate excuse for his loss. In watching Green that night you might have noticed he wasn't firing off and conducting himself with the same energetic bursts he always possessed. "Before the Miranda fight, I was only eating every three days in camp," Green revealed. "But I really didn't say much about it, I didn't want everybody thinking I was making excuses. Anybody who has seen me fight could tell from the first round that something wasn't right with me." Green explained: "I had a severe medical problem that I've been treated for. I found out that my colon was paralyzed. What happens is your nerves and your muscles stop working in there. And you got to remember, 70-percent of your energy comes from your colon. If it ain't working, you don't have nothing; you don't get absorption from the food you eat." The condition forced him out of a scheduled ESPN fight this spring. Now things are under control for Green, which means ring generalship should be out of control for his opposition :good
:goodYeah, I remember that, but I didn't want to bring it up, because I am not entirely certain what to think of it. However, something was off, and I was very disappointed in Green, whom I had thought would handily take care of Miranda.
Indeed well not long after this he did have an operation to remove 85% of his colon and your colon is as he points out where your body absorbs nutrients from, this I would think would explain the lack of energy. His body was depleted.
