i doubt Winky would even propperly test Kessler.....he hasn't fought in nearly 2 years, he's old, and past his best weight

Please name me another american based fighter who would be a better opponent for Kessler at 168?

Besides Taylor who has turned down a fight with Kessler at this point.

 

I'd rather see him fight Green, Pascal, or Miranda, personally.

But why limit it to 168 lb Americans?

What about Bika? Not an American but a name here nonetheless.

Or Dawson at a catchweight?

Or Froch or Bute if he can get them?

Like I said, Wright is not the worst choice but he is not the best. You seriously cannot believe that outside of Taylor, a 37 y/o natural 154 lber who hasn't fought in 1.5 years presents the biggest challenge for Kessler.

 

Bika who lost to Bute not long ago?
Miranda who was smoked bad time by AA last time around?
Green who lost to Miranda?

Winky is not supposed to be the biggest challenger, he is a profile name, that is meant to raise Kesslers popularity in the U.S, before a showdown with Taylor or Hopkins. Simple as that.

Ok then let Bute step up and meet Kessler, while Taylor takes care of Froch...Then the winners can meet for a huge unification bout in the summer or late next year.

I'm thinking this is a profile fight for the US audience. Froch and Taylor are out of the sweepstakes because they have a mandatory fight against each other, and nobody really knows Bute, especially since he got knocked out by somebody that Kessler shut out.

 

Taylor's people have been avoiding Froch for a while(for risk/reward reasons,don't think Taylor is afraid of him).The WBC has 2 mandatories rule for anybody who wins the vacant title or by default(like Diaconu) so he must fight 2 mandos....Taylor should be one but has not shown signs(till recently) that he wants Froch.Probably just as a last option)in case Clazghe or Kessler don't happen).
Bute vs Froch won't happen soon as I explained Froch's situation and as Bute has his obligations aswell.
Honestly Winky is a bad fight cuz Kessler won't get any credit,Winky is a 37 y o,JMW who was a good MW also,nowhere near a good SMW and hasn't fought in going on 2 years.Not good for Kessler

Chad Dawson, the fight Kessler turned down. Instead of really taking a challenge and making a big name for himself, Kessler allows Team Palle to tuck tail and run. Instead Kessler has been fighting nobodies.

This fight stinks to boredom. Even a prime Winky was boring to watch fight. Yes I will watch the fight but the number of viewers will be crap from 2 guys that cant sell.

Honestly, keep kessler in Denmark and Europe. We dont need another no name, wont fight anyone of worth type here in the states. Kessler is about as excitiing as watching ice melt.

 

Wright turned down $2.4 million and a slice of the PPV revenue when offered a Pavlik fight, and that was AFTER claiming Pavlik was ducking him. I doubt very much that a Kessler fight would pay more than that. And Winky pulled out of his come back fight. I'll be shocked if he takes this fight.

Kessler needs to fight a real SMW, not a blown up light middle. The division is stacked with talent. Even the second tier guys are pretty damn good.
