Actually most like he will after theyre next fights(Bute vs Larsen probably and Andrade vs Tsypko).And he didn't refuse a rematch as there was no talks about an immediate rematch.**** off:thumbsup

The problem in the states is that there is not a whole lot of fighters worth anything at the moment.
People bash Kessler for fighting in Europe. Then when he announces that he wants to fight in the states, and takes on a former P4P fighter as a tune up for a big match-up against Taylor or Hopkins, that is regarded as a cowardice act?

I dont understand some peoples logic!

 

We are talking about something that ain't gonna happen for a while(which can be years) so I'm gonna talk about it when it is signed and done.

 

I read something the other day that said AA has no intention of moving up before he tries to unify. Pavlik announced his intention to unify many times. They both want it. It's these ridiculous mandatories that have gotten in the way more than anyhing else. Politics and promoter bull**** run a close second. It isn't Arthur or Kelly.

 

Dawsone is closer to Kesslers weight than Winky. Winky is a 154 fighter. You are crazy the USA at 168 is packed heavy, we have a ton of good super middle fighters.

Why does Kessler need a tune up? Winky hasnt fought in like 2 years. He is a plague on ratings as well and thinks he is some kinda name. No one tunes in to watch Winky other than die hard fans. Only Winky thinks he is a somebody, thats why he doesnt get any fights and now..he is way past his prime. His prime is at 154 not 168. Thats why this fight stinks I dotn see why people dont understand that.


Kessler ducks the best fights and instead takes weak ones. Why cant you see that logic?

 

Agreed but let's not forget Pavlik became champ as a mandatory aswell.Next year the fight should happen.

He fougth calzaghe and got the **** beat out of him. Since then he fought a mandatory against andrade, the worst defensive fighter in the sport currently and looked good. Wow thats an accomplishment.

You dispute that Andrade is the worst defensive fighter in the sport right now? No I didnt think so. Bute won every rd versus andrade and then gassed late in the 12th.

Kessler is his prime has now fought dmitri sartison and Hausler..umm and now he wants a "tune up" against a 154lb old fighter who hasnt fought in 2 years. Hey if kessler wants to make money fighting nobodies and old washed up fighters thats his business. But dont you dumb **** nuthuggers come in here touting him as the best or great. he obviously isnt proving it by taking real challenges and moving to the next level. If he had wanted to do that he could ahve fought dawson, who would ahve met him at a catch weight or even 168.

Kessler needs a tune up in the states to get some attention before a big fight with Taylor or Hopkins, it is simple management.
It is not so much about the numbers who are going to watch Winky, it is more about presenting Kessler as a challenger for the bigger american names.

 

5 good to very good super middleweight fighters from the usa. A division we will likely be ruling inside of 3 years. We have more talent coming through super middle than any one other country right now.

4) allan green
5) daniel jacobs
6) marcus johnson

Notice I didnt mention lacy, Andrade or Banks who are all "good" super middles.
