Basically, he is Calzaghe's best win at 168, so all the Brits are blowing smoke up Kessler's rear end.

Also, there is a strong Danish contingent on here.

Most everyone else sees a good basic fighter, nothing more.

Pharo,,I agree, but what he does, he does VERY well, remember, Joe frazier, my one time idle, was about that with mostly throwing left hooks, very seldom do I recall Joe throwing a jab, or straight right:think

He's the best Super Middleweight in the world. He didn't fight Miranda because he fought for the WBA strap.

To his critics, how many fighters of Kessler's offensive calibre and proficiency have a greater tactical versatility and responsiveness?

No one, except Calzaghe (retired), in my view.

Hopkins is much more tactically versatile and responsive but he isn't as offensively effective these days, due to his lower stamina, slower reactions, lower speed and lower power.

If you compare Kessler given his current level of experience with the best straight-up, orthodox, European style fighters of equivalent experience of the last generation, Kessler takes the biscuit.

Fans who are oversold on flashy, speedy combinations will not appreciate Kessler until they will see him defeat one of their idols - Chad Dawson, for example.

Will Dawson dare to step into the same ring as Kessler? I wonder...

No, that is not the real question, in all fairness.

Kessler is prepared to step in the ring against all highly ranked or heavily overrated American names, whether they be proven, or, as in this case, unproven. Since his impressive performance against Calzaghe, he has called out everyone in and around the top of the 168 lbs and 175 lbs divisions, especially the Americans. Hopkins, Johnson, Taylor, Pavlik, Tarver and Dawson have all ignored him, and in some cases, put him down publicly as a Euro bum.

They would all rather lose to one of their own rather than to this Euro bum, so they're avoiding him.

What is most impressive about Kessler is the dominant fashion in which he has beating his comp. Compare his performance against Andrade, with Bute's, Lucian Bute is a world champ in his own right, and Andrade nearly had him out, against Kess he didnt win one second of any round - the way you win is always a good sign of great things to come.

On ESB unless you have beaten a legend or an ATG HOFer (terms which are thrown around willy nilly), then you are a nobody. This is juvenile.

Kessler has a very good CV to date but is still well in his prime and I think the bigger fights are yet to come, I think if he gets a fight with Taylor we can rubber stamp how good is, as I think that could well be a one sided domination aswel. All Kess can do is keep winning.

He has the fundementals to be summin very special, if he gets the fights is another question.

Have you watched the Kessler vs. Andrade fight? I ask only because Andrade clearly won the first round, did well in the second, and possibly won both the ninth and eleventh rounds as well. Personally I gave him 2-3 rounds.

Against Bute, Andrade won the fifth round, the eleventh and the twelfth.

Kessler performed much more impressively against Andrade than Bute, obviously.

Styles make fights, and strictly, you couldn't compare Bute's performance against Andrade with Kessler's, to determine that Kessler was a better fighter than Bute, because Bute and Kessler have very different styles.

However, what we can conclude is that Kessler is more offensively proficient and effective than Bute. Proof of that is that he could keep Andrade on the outside with his jab and straight right combinations alone, whereas Bute had to accept the inside fight despite being at a considerable disadvantage inside, against Andrade. Another thing we can conclude is that Bute's inside game is practically inexistent. Kessler has shown a much better inside game against the best inside fighter in the business, Calzaghe.

So, does Bute have any advantages over Kessler? I would say he does. His footwork and movement is better and he is a better counterpuncher in an open fight on the outside. Would this be enough to allow him to win more than a couple of rounds against Kessler? I would say it's unlikely. In my view, Kessler has a good enough chance even to stop Bute late, after applying a lot of pressure, at a high workrate.

Do you have any proof of Kessler calling Dawson out in some viable form of American media?

Dawson would tear Kessler up. :good

Team Kessler has already stated that they don't want to fight Dawson. Kessler even had his top 5 wish list and left Dawson off. Meanwhile, team Dawson said they are more than willing to fight Kessler if he wants to come up to 175.
