Unfortunately Palle has a long history of destroying boxers careers.

    Mads Larsen
    Rudy Markussen
    Thomas Damgaard
    Bredahl brothers

All of above (and problably a lot more that i can't remember) have IMO been mismanaged by Palle. Who has shown again and again that he is very willing to destroy a boxers career in order to make a point.

Not to mention the 50 fights Brian Nielsen had as 'champion'. The man has an impressive history of arranging fights with only 1 possible outcome.

All of above makes me belive that he blew a miranda fight on US tv, in order for Kessler to fight a bum on DK4 (which is the smalles tv station in denmark with about 10 k viewers.) It would actually be fun if it wasn't so sad.

So DLH if you are reading this please send an offer to Kessler, if you get him a good lawyer you might just persuade him to leave his contractual obligations with Palle.

Lets hope I am wrong, we will see later today.

Well the fight isn't going to be shown on DK4 - they broke of the cooperation and are currently suing eachother for millions.

The fight is going to be PPV in Denmark - and mayby parts of it will be shown on HBO.

I wouldn't exspect too good an opponent - Eric Lucas was also described as top quality opponent - and although Lucas was a decent opponent he was no top10 SMW at that point!

Häussler wouldn't surprise me at all :(

I know but doesn't it show something of Palles skill that DK4 was the only tv station that was willing to show his events?

Then when he landed a big fight (MK-JC) he went on and sold it elsewhere, no wonder he is being sued. He was being paid twice for 1 item.
I hope the case will bankrupt him.

You are giving Palle a tough time here but I partly agree except maybe for Brian, Thomas Damgaard and the Bredahl brothers. I believe Thomas and the brothers had their talent taken as far as they could go. De La Hoya beat the older brother Jimmy soundly and Thomas had a great fight with Gatti. Johnny had a wonderful carreer but threw the money he earned in the gutter. Rudy Markussen showed little ring intelligence and stamina and wasn't really worth the effort. Mads's case is a shame and was definitely some kind of mismanagement IMO. Lastly, Brian is supposedly living a good life from his earnings in boxing. Hopefully Bettina learned something from her fathers mistake. It just seems to go up and down for Team Palle.

Palle has most of the time not been able to make a contract with a major danish network there has always been problems between Palle and the networks.

Mikkel Kessler is going to the mountain top as he begins his campaign to establish himself as the world’s finest super middleweight boxer.
The Danish boxer, a former WBA and WBC title beltholder, lost his crowns in a terrific bout against undefeated Joe Calzaghe last November in front of 50,000 fans in Cardiff, Wales.

Now Kessler is returning to the ring in a June 21 bout for the vacant WBA super middleweight title against undefeated official challenger, Dimitri Sartison.

Although the bout will be in the friendly confines of Kessler’s hometown, Copenhagen, he is going to shortly begin training at the high elevation of Big Bear, California.

Many boxers and mixed martial artists have long used the 2,064 meters high location as a training base because of the positive effect prolonged training at such a high altitude has on an athlete’s blood transportation system.

Oscar de la Hoya was one of the first boxing superstars to buy a home and make Big Bear his training base. His Golden Boy Promotions colleague and former ring rival, Sugar Shane Mosley, won’t train anywhere but Big Bear.

Not only does Mosley own a home which includes a big garage fitted with a boxing ring in Big Bear, the former champion also enjoys the winter sports, especially snow-boarding, available around the mountain area.

Former world heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs is another fighter who raves about Big Bear.

“That is a great move by Mikkel Kessler,” Briggs said. “He will get in great condition up there. It takes a few days to get used to the elevation but, man, I can really tell you there is a big difference when you come down the mountain and fight at a lower elevation.

Big Bear is also a small town atmosphere, the people love boxing and they are so used to having guys like Mosley and Oscar around. There are really no distractions. It is a beautiful place of nature and a perfect place for Kessler to get ready.”

For his part, Mosley purchased his home about 10 years ago. He is in Big Bear now, getting ready for his end of May bout against Zab Judah.

Kessler is expected to spend about three weeks in the mountainous area which is a short drive away from Los Angeles.

He will then fly back to Denmark to get reacclimated for the title fight against Sartison.

“I am not taking Dimitri lightly,” Kessler said. “I know what it’s like to be a young, undefeated guy whose biggest goal is to win a world title. I am sure he is coming to Denmark to try to take my head off.”

For Kessler, the road back to the top of the super middleweight division begins on the mountain top in Big Bear.

    :think

    Anyone have any Sartison video?

Also, Briggs is a Kessler fan? :blood That makes it slightly more difficult to hate the guy.
