Even though everybody seems to think it will be a close fight, hardly anybody seems to think Kessler has any chance. What tactics can/will Kessler use to increase his chances? I largely think that he will try to control the pace with his jab and try to discourage Carl from wading in trying to overwhelm him. His best chance for a points win. Although, I have a nagging in the back of my head that Kessler knows that he doesn't have that much left in the tank and that a points victory could be unlikely at home. His best chance of a KO is probably early whilst his punches still have snap and power. Is he likely to put it all into the 1st 6 rounds, go for the KO from the off and hope for the best?
I think this fight hinges on how Froch starts, if he starts quick and gets a few successes then I can't see past Froch. but if Kessler get the jab going and gets his combinations working then the fight is truly on. keep an eye out for Kessler's straight right hand to the body, he needs to get that shot going and get it landing because that will discourage Froch from coming forward as much. The left hook will have to be respected as well.
