Kessler is a massive super middle. He could physically match up with Dawson easily.

Dawson is a Cruiserweight fighting at LHW. There are plenty of interesting fights around 160-170 and Kessler has previously said he would be happy to go down to 160 for the right fight. Taylor is as tall as Kessler and has Bigger reach than Kessler. I think Kessler will try to get as many of the big names at 160-170 and will only go to LHW in 5 years or so. By that time I think it is likely that Dawson will already have grown out of LHW and be a CW or perhaps even trying out at HW. Afterall he is naturally bigger than Roy, Toney etc.

I think Kessler vs. Taylor would be a good even fight. Taylor did not break even with Bernard for nothing. He is a class act in my oppinion.

As of Saturday night the only two names this guy should be gunning for if he truly wants to impress the world are BHop and Dawson and in that order.

So is 6'1 Taylor too small for 6'1' Kessler?
Is 6'1' Pavlik too small for 6'1' Kessler?

    Give him a break. :patsch

6'3 Dawson is not an interesting fight at all right now. Mainly because there are far more interesting and known fighters at 160-170 and because Kessler is still on the comeback from his only defeat. Let Dawson make hismark first. Let him prove that Johnson was a fluke.

And more importantly let the guys who claim to be p4p in Calzaghe and Hopkins take on Dawson first if Dawson is such a challenge.

Are you saying that you rank Kessler so much higher p4p than:

    Taylor
    Pavlik
    RJJ

that the fights are not even competitive?

If so - where do you rank Kessler p4p?

and in another thread you just wrote this:

    Dude.... you are playing.

Can you make up your mind? Who would win? I you think Pavlik would win then obviously it would be a good fight for Kessler. IF you think Kessler wins easily then maybe Kessler shouldn't look at Pavlik.

    Which is it?

Problem is that Kelly would have to go up again to 168, and I think he;s staying MW:think

No point in getting into a pissing contest with you "all Euros are frauds" guys but is a much better athlete and technical boxer than Pavlik, he's a much better technical boxer than Taylor not to mention just as quick, bigger physically than both

Jones is washed up. Beating a couple nobides without stopping them, and a past it, inactive Tito fighting well above his best weight, again no stoppage, means ****. You guys love to bag on Kessler's competition but he's 10 times better than anyone Jones has fought since the Tarver-Johnson-Tarver debacles where he got his ass handed to him 3 times in a row. Now you think he's back because he beat a couple of chumps and a blown up, inactive Tito

im going to have to disagree with you on that. I would be willing to wager a fair sum on Taylor over Kessler.

I dunno Taylor's kinda slacked off ever since the Hopkins + Winky fights IMO he fought all right vs Pavlik the first time before getting stopped and had a good showing vs Pavlik in the rematch .. hopefully Taylor can get back to form vs Lacy next month

and you really see Dawson going all the way up to Cruiser/Potential Heavy? That'd be insane to see, hopefully Dawson does something big in these next couple years cuz Light Heavy at the moment seems like a very thin division (outside of Jones, Calzaghe and one or 2 others .. not a lot of big names) .. especially when compared to Middle and Super Middleweight

*and in 5 years Kessler will be 34, do you expect him to stick around that much longer? especially with his history of back problems

I hope Kessler can get another big fight, and at least 2 of the 5 listed as it would be a shame if he never got the "big fight" opportunity again
