Yet somehow Urango was the one bleeding and the one who ended up on the canvas twice while Alexander barely had a mark on him and was never close hitting the canvas. Urango landed that right hook too much for my liking. However, those hooks had nothing on them. Urango was rarely in a position to plant his feet and get something on those shots. That has to count for something.
It's kinda humorous to compare Kevin Cunningham to Urango's trainers "you are a man...he is not...you understand?"
I never said he didn't. I remarked that he wasn't able to get much leverage on his shots which is why Alexander wasn't marked up and why he was never even so much as staggered during the fight.
Man, that's because Cunningham devised a strategy that had Alexander take the fight to Urango, rather than clinching for 12 rounds. Maybe Juan landed more shots against Alexander, but he also got knocked out. It was a strategy. I'll take that over a boring 12-round clinchfest ANY day of the week.
Thats what Devon allowed him to do though? Devon wanted to put on a show, so he stayed in the pocket and kept adapting to what was coming to him. Noticed how Urango didnt land one right hook after round 6? He blocked all of them and started punishing Urango. He's learning on the job, and Urango wasn't really touching him the way you're describing it.. Devon was there, doing the damage, blocking, dodging and parrying Urangos hooks.
Man, I don't know if getting lit up is the best way to describe it. Alexander was never hurt, and controlled the action. I had it 4-2 after 6 for Alexander. Keith
