I've got to respect Floyd for what he's done here. A really good thing. No if's, no but's.

    RIP Champ.

I remember a video last year Floyd greeting Genaro. If I remember correctly, Floyd also helped pay for some of his medical bills.

Yes we can. This is neither the time nor place to display such negativity. Better to be quiet and let people thing you are an idiot, than to open your mouth so people KNOW you're an idiot.

When you fight a guy like Genaro, a bond is created. The guy was like a brother to Floyd, and even when I was training at Top Rank with Mayweather around he had nothing but good things to say about Hernandez. And I don't like Floyd as a person. Great fighter, I'm no fan of the man. But this move is both classy and predictable-They were close and had tremendous respect for eachother.

Floyd aint no saint! But he DEFINATELY isnt the devil alot of you make him out to be.

I know he had alot of respect for the man and he has done his bit before, this is another great gesture!

Wish the Henadez family all the best.

As for the haters well I dont know what to say......if it was their brother and they were broke Im sure they'd feel differently, shame they cant their hatred aside for one day.

Think of this what boxer who Floyd ever faced has ever spoken bad about him after they have been in the ring? Baldomir really likes him, Zab is the same, Ricky Hatton said he is a real gentleman, he really aint THAT bad!

On the real Genaro was a true gentleman. It was an honor to watch him during his career

I dont like it when people put it just like that.

Genaro Hernandez was a provider for his family. He made a nice chunk of change in his boxing career, and was doing well working as a commentator/analyst before the cancer was discovered.

......Cancer and having to pay out of pocket because he did'nt have medical insurance is what broke him.
It was then that people in the boxing industry who loved Genaro shipped in to help him.

I just think its important to be clear that Genaro was'nt your run of the mill broke fighter.....once the cancer took over, his assets were depleted. Unfortunately this happens to alot of well off folks in the United States when sickness strikes them.

God bless everyone that reached into his and her pocket to help Genaro and his family......yes, even Bob Arum.

That's one reason I was so much in favor of reforming our health care in the US. Most of the people in this country that file for bankruptcy do it because of medical issues. :-(
    It's really sad

He had medical insurance but his rare form of cancer was not or not fully covered. Arum paid for much of his medical bills. I think even Floyd helped.
