Makes no sense. They wanted Bernard to fight James Toney after the Hopkins-Trinidad fight and the Tonwey-Jirov fight. Obviously it couldn't be made with one under 160 and the other close to 200 pounds. Gamboa and Rios didn't work out and the same goes for that one, even Martinez can't fight a fair fight against Ward cause his top limit is 160 and ward can't come down to that weight without getting drained.

 

And here I am pulling down a couple bucks an hour over minimum wage. :!:

 

I love how Berto and Martinez being not well-known is broadcast front and center, but Iole leaves the fact that Ward has had far less exposure than both of them unstated. Apparently his gold medal would make him a huge attraction for that fight even though it's gotten him jack **** drawing-wise outside of Oakland.
