US media didnt mention anything about the fight. They're gonna replay the fight on HBO BAD tonight, but they did that with Thompson aswell.

AGain, if you dont know who Eddie Chambers is, why are you talking **** about heavyweights? Chambers would probably get KO'd by the Klitsckos, but he's a sight better then Johnson, and would win a fair share of rounds I predict.

So? In just a few years of boxing he's already won an olympic medal, and right now is KO'ing every opponent thats served up in a few rounds.

Wilder, like Chad Dawson, is basically what would happen if American football players and basketball players got into boxing again. Big athletic guys with skills
Eastern Europeans? You mean the Klits? The rest of the Eastern European contingent, with the exception of maybe Povetkin is just as outclassed by the Klits as the Americans. And frankly, they can have the heavyweights, its boring.

Sorry, you must have forgotten that 3 of the top 5 P4P rated fighters in the sport today are American and Americans still hold more belts then any other country on the planet.

I do appreciate skill, I simply hate when it is rammed down my throat as the be all end all. To your credit, at least you did not spell skills with a "z"!

As you eluded, I also like MMA/grappling. I have got some skills, only they on the ground.:hey

I would support a solid clean fighter like Taylor if I were you. I am doing so. I'd have no problems with him winning, in fact, it'd be awesome. Andre Ward... fighting only in hometown... using the head on the inside... Victor Conte being his conditioner... I don't like it one bit. Also Dirrell looks like a cool dude compared to Ward. I don't know man... On the US HW scene, I like Arreola the best. He'll surely pick up a belt.

Regarding your last point; Of course Americans have the most success in professional boxing. They have by far the most avenues for developement and participation. However they are losing their dominance for a myriad of reasons, which are to lengthy to address at this point.

In addition: Much of the talent from Eastern Europe does not even get opportunities to persue professional career's. Again the reasons are to lenghty to address.

I am not claiming anyone is inherantly better. Just that other parts of the World are making serious inroads against the domain of American pro boxing dominance.with far less resources and opportunity for success.

Quite frankly; Many U.S. fight fans seem more than a little bitter about it.

It's a tough time for American boxing.

That being said, I think Eddie Chambers is a legit top 10 guy who could give Vitali big trouble. Unfortunately, he's facing Wlad who he'll have a harder time with but I think he can pull it off (I hope at least).

And down the line we have Deontay Wilder and Tor Hamer, who both look great so far.

It seems Johnson was just trying to survive and hope for a miracle injury to win the fight. Unfortunately lightning doesn't strike twice in the same place.

According to boxrec, this guy is the EIGHT(8TH) best heavyweight in America.

That being said, the guys above him arent great either.
Thompson,Arreola,Austin,Rahman, have all been beaten by one of the Klitschkos.
Come March you'll probably be able to add Chambers to that list.

I read somewheres that the distribution between American champions and non-American champions was basically the same 15 years ago. Yeah there are alot of Eastern Europeans making inroads in boxing.

And in reality, its becuase of the poverty in eastern europe that Eastern Europeans are coming strong. Boxing has always been a poor mans sport. Its why its the only sport where developing countries and more impoverished countries tend to dominate, where in other sports like soccer, its typically the bigger richer countries that succeed.

However, boxing is still ingrained in Americas psyche, and I dont think you'll ever look up and see a sport in boxing where Americans arent fighting at an elite level in atleast most of the weight classes.

I'd say Chambers, Toney, Oquendo, Arreola, and Ruiz :)patsch) are the best the US has atm. Does Solis count as US?
