Against Matthew Greer (12-3 11 ko's). This is a good stay active fight for Johnson to finish out the year. Anyone seen Greer fight before? Anyway, I am a huge fan of Johnson and look forward to seeing more of him in the future. I think that he could one day possibly be the future of the heavyweight division. P.S. Sorry if this has already been posted.

  2. Greer is a replacement for Galen Brown. Brown is now fighting Greer's old opponent (TBA). Greer is a typical corn fed midwestern bum. (See Jeff Lally, Keith McKnight,Dale Crowe type). KINGPIN WILL BE THE FUTURE HW CHAMPION OF THE WORLD. He has all the tools, speed, stamina, defense, the best jab, etc. etc. etc. ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY KINGPIN!

Doesn't look to be much of an opponent but its still good to see Johnson staying busy. He has the tools but he needs the big fights now. I'd really like to see him step up to a top ten type of guy in 09.

Yes, he will be champ for sure someday. And yes he does need to start stepping up the competition soon, but this is a good stay active fight for him. I didn't know this, but he was trained by Larry Holmes for his first 3 professional fights! No wonder he has that superb jab, he learned from the master jabber himself.

Is Johnson ever going to step up? This is getting comical.

  7. I have heard from people close to KJ that he had offered to fight Travis Walker in GA (Walker fought Mike Middleton instead), KJ offered a fight to Ruslan Chagaev, but was turned down. KJ was in negotiations with Evander Holyfield for a mega fight in GA, yet Holyfield turned it down. It is hard for KJ (and other up and coming prospects) to land significant fights if the other parties are not interested. I heard a comment from Damien Wills on GA radio that "Kevin Johnson is the future of the HW division. He is crafty, slick and hard to hit, let alone beat. The only obstacle he faces is opponents. No one will fight him, it may (WILL) lead to a loss, so he is stuck fighting nobodies till his ranking puts him in line for a mandatory. KJ has stepped up, look at his resume. Timur Ibragimov, Robert Wiggins, Bruce Seldon, Demetrice King, Damien Wills. Not a bad choice for the first 20 fights of ones career.

If he is waiting on a Mandatory he will be 37 before he gets it. Dumb strategy. Plus, you say he offered a fight to Chagaev, he is in no position to offer anyone a fight much less a belt holder.

  9. He should be fighting for a title within one year. But the politics in boxing are screwed up. How does Kali Meehan, Andrew Golota, Mike Mollo and Jameel McLine get title shots (and lose time after time) when we have good prospects, KJ Solis, Boytsov sitting around waiting.

P.S. What part of the ATL are you from?

Kevin Johnson is a feather fisted pretender, he will never amount to anything

  14. KINGPIN floored the china chinned Wlad Klitschko three times in sparring. SO by my estimation, your boy got hurt by what you call a feather fisted pretender. You should know what the f--k you are talking about when you post a comment. PEACE
