It isn't often I root for Vitali to knock a guy out, but Johnson evokes that emotion with the way he carries himself. A very poor impersonation of James Toney is what I took away from it. For a guy 6'4" 240lbs you'd think he wouldn't cower from every punch Vitali threw. Despite Johnson's survive mentality, Vitali did ok. These guys will never learn their lesson. Vitali cannot be beaten on the outside. It has to be inside.
Still did more damage than Arreola, Peter, and Gomez combined... which tells you a little something about Johnson's level of talent. Unfortunately his will to win doesn't match.
****ing pitiful to be honest..... and i dont care if he fights like that all the time, i dont care what expectations are or were, your fighting one of the top heavyweights in the world, in the biggest fight of your life, and your gonna land what.... 5 power punches the entire fight? Hes gonna act all badass.... before and after the fight, and a ***** inside it? He acts like he should get the belt because vitali couldnt stop a guy that didnt come to fight. To be honest, i cant remember being so disgusted with a performence, maybe that oqeundo byrd fight awhile back and jmm vs gainer, but its right up there.
We all knew Johnson was shite. Now he's a defensive genius!!! WTF. He looked scared all the up to the 1st bell ringing and he carried that all the way through. Disgusting. I felt for Vitali but he should still have the knowledge to put him away. Kevin Johnson is not, never was or never will be contender material. Vitali needs to have a long think.
All the talk before the fight and he fights like a *****, what a let down, thats the last fight ill watch of his. I have A LOT more respect for all the fighters that actually fought Vitali and got KO'd.
Agreed. Shows you the difference when Arreola takes an utter pasting ansd then cries when he's stopped.........he really wanted it and was prepared to do whatever it took (apart from get in shape).
