Sorry, that thread title doesn't deliver. As pre-fight pot stirring goes, this is pretty shoulder shrugging stuff... when he's talking about "white boys beating him" and stomping flags, then you may have something.

Its out there alright, but it was about 20 years ago when he was still an amateur. Thinks its the reason he didnt go to the olympics. he went away and did kickboxing afterwards.

Dont think its that big of a deal.Like I said it was nearly 20 years ago and it wasnt even as a professional.

given the lack of verbiage from vitali johnson appears to be trying to hype the fight and perhaps psyche himself up a bit.

Johnson's only real chance is if Vitali is considering this fight as simply a tune up for a possible Haye fight next year. Vitali has done nothing to hype this fight, and it is likely to be very one-sided since Johnson has no power.

I started this thread, just to illustrate a point that Johnson might be deceptively more powerful than a glance at his record would indicate: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=187502

Good post. But why would he not want to knock his opponents out? Sure, he will never be a power puncher, but getting more stoppages early in his career would have made him a legit contender and not just a heavy Paulie Malignaggi. The fact remains that the draw with Ibragimov and the wins over a shopworn Seldon and late sub Vargas are the most impressive things on his record. Still, his lack of power is irrelevant as Vitali has only ever been hurt by Lewis. Johnson could win on points, but is is such a small chance. He did pick the right champion though, as Wlad or Haye would knock him out early.
