On the undercard of Evander "the Alimony Deal" Holyfield's "Redempition in America" card, Kevin "Safety Pin" Johnson returns to the ring as a late subtitute for the ill Travis Kauffman against journeyman Julius Long (15-14, 13KO's). Long is 7' 1", and has a 90" reach! And actually won a fight since 2005 (WBA, doesn't this guy deserve a titleshot?) so Kevin needs our support. :bbb edit: Just figured out he got TKO'd by no other than Audley "A-BOMB" Harrison in 2 rounds, and by Tye Fields in 3 (BR)
Solis has a UD win over Long. Peter KO'd Long in 1. Also, I don't think Long is quite 7'1". Maybe 6'10"...the reason I say that is he fought Ustinov (and lost via first Round KO), who is listed at 6'7 1/2"...and I've seen Ustinov spar Vitali..so I think Ustinov's height is correct (or at least very close). Maybe he has to come in in the 540-550lbs range like that guy in the other thread said... Maybe he can "pancake" Vitali that way
I'm probably the only one who's going to say this.....but I think Johnson is half decent. Obviously he disgraced himself and he's now got some hard work to do to convince anyone he has a place at the top table, but he might just get back there one day. Let's see.
