That's exactly the problem. Excellent jab, excellent durability, good hand speed, very good defensive ability, a good natural body weight for a modern heavy, a good trainer in Jeff Mayweather. More to work with than your other guys who have stalled out at his level, the ones I mentioned. But he refuses to make the most out of it when challenged by serious class opposition. If the other guy's in C+ type territory, the Wach's and Sosnowski's, had the same amount to work with, they wouldn't be C+'ers. He's an utter waste. There's nothing wrong with losing when you're trying to win. What he's done when given a chance many would kill for is dishonourable and disgusting. I wouldn't give him the time of day at this point.
Just got my tix for this - looking forward to it. IMO - KJ certainly has the advantage in learning and skill but lacks the heart - Sol is fairly skilled but can puch although his chin is a little scary. Still - picking KJ by UD - Cant wait - Browne v Toney is the headliner and also looking forward to seeing this - I'm yet to be sold on Browne - in the fights I've seen he's always left himself too open and he's always fought too much like a bar brawler for my likings but if he can get by Toney (even at this stage) I'll be impressed - If he can get the KO I'll be cheering and on my feet. But picking Toney by late ko. i want to be proved wrong on both counts and hope the boys can come through for me. anyone else going?
hahaha fair enough - for Oz its a good card - dont know how to move it to the Australian forum and I didn't start the discussion here -
KJ just doesnt want to get KOd. He forgets that he has one of the better chins in boxing, but when he faces an accumulation of punches he forgets to produce any offense whatsoever. At this time in his career, he's gotta drop the defense routine, and start taking a more offensive approach. He's still a legit contender if he strings together a few solid wins (Airrich, Bydenkos, Houmona types). But he's gotta change his style if he's gonna win a post K2 title. When the man puts punches together, he's actually got some decent one punch power. But he's gotta be able to set that right hand up off the double jab, which he rarely if ever does.:-(
Exactly! This is Boxing! People are so desperate for good heavyweights that if Johnson puts a few wins together who knows? But his chin is solid (neck is as big as a waist) Maybe Price will fight him one day. Or Wilder.
