Lerena is going to play it very safe in the final third of this, it appears, judging by the opening minute-plus of the 9th. Stick and move, jabbing into the guard, very carefully steering clear of Golovashchenko's rights.

Lerena is a boring fighter. Can't pressure a guy who is totally gassed.

 

Yeah this started out promising but after that first big momentum shift it has gotten exponentially less interesting with each passing round..

 

Signs of life from Golovashchenko!! He's a bit uncoordinated, balance a little scattershot and feet not firmly underneath him as he turns Lerena while churning out powerful hooking combos to body & head, but at least he's putting in an effort to make this a fight again!!

Good round from Golovashchenko, hurts Lerena in the last minute with some big combinations. Lerena finished the round well with a huge left hand.

 

You know what? Lerena's overly cautious approach cost him round 10, IMO. He just didn't score much. Golovashchenko didn't get in a whole lot clean, but just playing the numbers game he connected more.

There were a couple of closer rounds, if I were Lerena I wouldn't be so laid back seeing that this is not SA.

 

The crowd is clapping at the end of the 10th round. The Arena must be full of flys, because the fight is no reason for clapping.

 

They were applauding Golovashchenko's effort, which I fully agree with.
