For comparisons, Golvo was regarded as the same numerical underdog as Lejarraga against Skeete recently...
Nah, in the first couple of rounds before he gassed it seemed there might be a chance of him smashing Lerena up...and it was competitive until about midway, at which point he was totally spent (but Lerena was still too scared to really capitalize) - although to his credit he rallied hard in rounds 10 & 12 and left it all in the ring.
Gotta mind those locations and know what time zone they're in...what's suppertime in western Europe can be late-night the further east you go... currently half an hour until midnight local time in Baku.
Started off solid, maybe a 7.5/10 at its peak, dipped to a 5 at its lowest point, then returned to a 6 in the championship rounds.
Takeaway: Golovashchenko is tough & durable (and can soak up punishment even when his stamina is sapped) but very limited, and Lerena is somewhat talented (overall pretty good southpaw counter-puncher, not excellent in any one area with barely over average speed, power, and chin) but a complete sissy.
Gym/trainers/managers. He may be promoted mostly by Rodney Berman(Golden Gloves) though, who's a bit like South Africa's Arum. I've heard some shady things about both though I'll just leave it at that.
I thought Roman Golovaschenko was some made-up amalgamation of Chocolatito, GGG, and Loma. He wins in my book for existing. Being a real life human whose own name is made up of a mashup of three recent top P4P fighters...seriously, what are the odds?
