He mentioned on bunce show last week that he thinks he can move up from Lightweight to light welter and even welterweight.

personally i dont like the idea of this.

  2. I agree. He looks stocky at lightweight.

let's see how he develops at lightweight first. I mean i he is facing a dangerous puncher in kstsidis, let's see how he deals with his power

  4. I'd say Prescott was the more dangerous puncher and Mitchell took a couple of big shots off him OK. Katsidis is probably a stronger and more relentless kind of opponent.

I'd be more worried about Mitchell's body frame at welterweight. He seems pretty much suited to lightweight physically speaking. That's how it looks to me anyway.

i would agree he looks more suited right now to lightweight, he may develop a bit more to enable him to move up. He didn't take too much from presctot IMO, as he boxed to keep out of range, quite intelligent too.
You are right though Katsidis will pressure him tirelessly, and last time mitchell was pressured like that was against johansen, and although he came good in the end, he was out on his feet in the 6th. Maybe not boiling to super feather will help, and he will cope a bit better and not gas.
Hope so, as i would love him to beat katsidis, anything to get one up on the aussies!:good

i dont think Mitchell took anything completly flush of him like he did with CJ. Saying that i think anyone who takes a completly flush shot at world class is getting knocked over.

the only thing remotely world class about prescott too, is his puncing power. And mitchell negated this aspect totally.

hes far too small for welterweight! i think he looks small for lightweight. Prescott dwarfed him and khan would to. Theres plently for him at lightweight tbh.

he only dwarfed him though because precott is a tall lad, and mitchell is only about 5"7. He won't be facing many people, if any, from now onwards that are going to dwarf him TBH.
I think he has a fair shot in this division, but he needs to think carefully about moving to light welter, as it is a competitive division, and can he naturally evolve to that division rather than just bulking up, which to be fair will probably restrict his manouverability

  10. Prescott did land at least one big right hand though as I remember when Mitchell took it he raised both hands and cheered to the crowd then carried on. To be fair, Prescott's style is predictable and any world class boxer should be able to deal with it. I give massive credit to Mitchell though.

don't get me wrong i rate mitchell. i just think katsidis style is so far removed from prescotts', that it will present a host of problems he faced against again CH. not saying he can't cope with it or anything, i just think we will find out much more about Kev as a LW in the next fight than we did against prescott.

Frame wise Mitchell looks way too small for Welter, may even struggle at LWW

Katsidis will look big agaisnt him.

  14. Totally agree. Kev's gonna find Katsidis a handfull from the first bell. Not sure if he can beat him to be honest but it's the type of fight he needs now. If he loses he's still got time to come back again. I'm sure he's gonna give it a damn good go though win or lose.

agree. think would not be a wise move. LW seems most natural for him right now
