Can fighters just stand still and dominate a weight class? I like to see fighters try and dominate for three-to-five years - and I believe that Mitchell has the tools to do that. Alongside that, his frame doesn't suit moving up much further.

 

even domestically at welter he'd get schooled by the likes of watson,o'donnell & brook

 

One step at a time. He should fight Katsidis first. That is NOT the sort of opponent you take lightly because he'll put you to sleep.

 

Nice to see someone who thinks like I do. I am sick of seeing fighters jump through weight divisions without doing anything at their weight a la Valero, Soto, Donaire, Juanma, Montiel. What's wrong with building a decent reign at a weight division and proving beyond dispute that you are the best.

 

Ive always thought Mitchell would go far but going up the weights to chase a fight with Khan would be a mistake IMO.I think Mitchell could and would have beaten Khan at Lightweight but Khan is filling out and will move up again.Mitchell was a banger at super feather but i think lightweight has negated that a bit and it is as far as he wants to be going up the weights.

 

I'll third your sentiments. Weight jumping to me is the new way of hand picking fights. First it was avoid big fights by hiding behind your belt and now its jumping weight. It's either hand picking fights or going for money fights i.e. Pac earning from DLH, Valero wanting to earn from Pac etc

No one knows who rules any division any more.

 

i hink he should just stick to being a lightweight for now. he could probably move up but theres no need to just yet.
