He can't make SFW and he's is too small to mix with the best LWs

Burns looked much bigger and stronger

Unfortunate but true, plus the fact that he has not always been dedicated to the life has held him back even more so.

There is still loads of good fights to be made at lightweight.

Hell, Mitchell - Mathews would be entertaining!

Great, another boxer fighting off the back foot with a low punch output.

I don't think that Booth is going to get more out of Mitchell, unless he changes personal aspect in his life.

For what Mitchell is trying to achieve i think its a better match than Mitchell and Tibbs was, thats honestly what i think. The problem as you have said is that the personal antics like the excessive alcohol and dare i say drugs makes him a nightmare to train and will surely ensure he never reaches full potential. Chances are that his chin is cracked, a number of domestic wars and then Katsidis bouncing him around the ring really didnt help. Burns was merely there to smash what was left of it. To this day i dont understand how he cannot make super featherweight, i find it silly and maybe a case in point with regards to his dedication towards his craft. Clearly very talented with quick hands and a bit of power to boot, massive waste of talent unless of course the dark one can weave his magic.

What you need to understand is very few boxers walk around near there fighting weight and as you get older and fully develop as an adult you become heavier, hence the reason IMO why. Kevin won't make SFW he's simply outgrown the weight

I just find it interesting Billy that Mitchell is consistantly the smaller man at the weight, i do wonder what he weighs when he enters the ring. He's clearly gained a little bit of size prior to the Murray and Burns fights, i think that was more in reaction to being bullied arounf the ring by Katsidis. I think its definately plausible that he couldnt make weight after beefing up for Murray, prior to that bout i think super featherweight was still an avenue open to him for sure.

It's so sad how boxers move to a coach like a moth to the flame. If I had real belief it was for genuine reasons it would be okay. Most likely the student doesn't listen to the teacher, student loses and blames teacher, student then looks to the most "in" teacher which seems to be Booth now. Prior to that its Virgil and Roach.

I got the impression it may have been Tibbs that left Mitchell rather than the other way around?

No mate it's an age thing with the likes of Ricky Burns he's just physically getting bigger fight by fight and that never started until he was 27
