I live near him and used to see him out a lot, I don't think he changed his lifestyle until he moved to matchroom. As a fan though he produced some great nights.
best of luck to kevin for the future, as mentioned its a shame he wasted so long not living the life because he really should have won a world title
His fight with John Murray was one of the best domestic tear ups seen in a long time. I actually thought Murray was going to smash him to pieces but fair play to Mitchell he hung in there and then produced a superb finish.
Probably the best prospect in the uk when he turned over. In his own words... he partied too much and that changed him from been fckin dynamite to a good fighter. Good luck to him.
This retirement has got comeback written all over it 12-18 months down the road he will be back ! My bet is he will be on Prizefighter in the future which he will win , couple of fights then a World title challenge
Can't see it personally, a big reason he's retiring is because his punch resistance has gone. Even more so now he is training fighters in the matchroom gym.
British Boxing's nearly man. He was a good fighter who just fell short of becoming a world champion. Perhaps if he had taken his career more seriously earlier on and knocked the boozing on the head, he would have won a world title. His best win was probably against John Murray, which doesn't do his talent the justice it deserved, in my opinion.
