Was that to me? Sparring is preparation.. 'ring rust' is nothing more than an excuse for lack of preparation.

Kevin Mitchell might not have fought for over a year now but let's be real, even if he had a fight say 3 months ago, it wouldn't have been against anyone good and therefore would have effectively been pointless. It might have boosted his confidence a little but anyone who relies on beating nobodies to gain belief is gonna get that quickly taken away when they step in the ring against someone good again (like a Katsidis or Murray this time)

I hope Kevin is fully prepared for this fight. Sometimes things go on behind the scenes which can't be avoided but if he's got everything sorted time time I think he could beat Murray. It should be a close fight but I think Murray takes over later and if not stops him, just edges the judges scorecards.

i think mitchell wins this based off of murrays last performance, mitchell got smashed by a fridge level contender murray got taken to war by a novice who was only a part time fighter and was ranked outside the top 10 in the EBU. murray doesnt hit that hard and i think mitchells movement will offset murrays work

People making the old mistake of judging a fighter on his last fight.

Murray looked **** against El Ouazgari, but McAllister, Buckland, Lawton, Kudryavtsev are all impressive wins at domestic/Euro level.

Mitchell outboxed Prescott, but Prescott is nothing like Murray. Prescott has an equaliser. When it lands, he often hurts and beats his opponent, but from what I've seen it can be avoided, which explains why (bar Khan), Prescott has lost each time he has stepped up.

Murray is more like Katsidis, he tends to swarm, work the body and just force his man back. That will take Mitchell out of his comfort zone.

I have Murray by stoppage in the mid or late rounds.

Murray will win this one. Mitchell goes into retirement I think, Kats ruined this guy.

I just mean if Mitchell is the boxer some seem to believe, then it will be pathetic watching someone as apparently crude as Murray out-jabbing him.

Mitchell will win the early rounds because he's fast. But he's hopelessly inaccurate as a puncher.

    :good

I don't feel Murray hits hard enough to carry off his style at a higher level.

The only question I have is, is this Mitchell a higher level?

Maybe not but Mitchell won't have the same belief deep down that he had going into that fight. It'll be longer than 3 rounds but Murray still has 12 rounds to wear down Kevin Mitchell and eventually stop him in my opinion.

I think Mitchell will win, I'm not sold on Murrays power, and I think Mitchell can trade in spurts whilst shooting off his fast shots from mid-range and win on points.

If Murray does get to him late and overwhelm him I wouldn't be completely surprised, but I think Mitchell will not be too bothered by Murrays offence after tasting Katsidis'. Murray is a plodder.
