Lanquaye Wilson, a super-bantamweight with a 1(1)-2(1) record whow as stopped in his last fight at 122 in 3 rounds. I know Mitchell's having a soft fight for his first fight back but this is ridiculous and won't prepare him for Martinez in any way shape or form.
i have to say i totally agree im going tonight and im majoraly dissapointed whilst i didne expect him to face any one of real quality as he has been of for a while and has a potential title shot lined up in july i would have thought they would have matched him against a durable opponent so he could get some rounds under his belts
the origional oppoent who was decent pulled out. dont always trust boxrec especially with africans. there no way the guy boxed 12 round in his first fight for a bet, even in ghana.
Stephen Foster Jr, then Burns, then Martinez in December is the best way for Mitchell IMO. Then Linares in May next year, I think Mitchell will batter him. Linares is one of the most overrated fighters in boxing.
If the original pulled out then I wouldn't expect much else. I'm just glad Kevin is fighting again and I'm looking forward to his title shot. Give us another World Champ.
Just the one stoppage loss in only two defeats in his entire career, so he's no pushover. One third of all his fights have been on foreign soil so far, so he won't be intimidated on the night, and he only ever wins by stoppage too, so he's dangerous. I hope Kevin hasn't bitten off more than he can chew.............
