Mitchell's taking a huge risk by making this disagreement public - pissing off Warren could be a huge risk to the guy's career if this backfires.

 

Purse bid was $515,000. 80-20 split.

515,000 / 1.6 / 5 = £64,375.00......rounded it to £65k.

To paint a picture Murray will be getting allot more than £30,000. Most Champions in main event fights on Sky will be getting 30k plus.

 

65k i thought it woulda been alot more,the money in boxing is ****,only the real elite fighters are gonna make any real money.....kev shoulda just taken the 30k and fought murray ,the lads a ticking time bomb.

I sympathize with his out-of-ring problems, but he has to realize that he disappointed a lot of people in his last fight, and since then he’s done nothing to make up for it. Why he thinks he deserves more money than what he got for the Katsidis bout, I do not know. Can someone confirm what his numbers were for that?

katsidis would probably have always been able to bull through him even on a good day. katsidis wasn't going away and mitchells boxing skills are more of a gimmick/reprieve. similar to cotto. who has a great jab, nice movement and guard. but it wont prolong him through a fight which keeps changing the situation. mitchell on the other hand , was always going to have to box and combos and only was able to pull that off against prescott. a slow, lanky, and unagile opponant. katsidis even though, not a great technician. knows what he has to do. he was going in there to spark him whatever round it was.


i'm not going to talk about professionalism because without your home life in order how can you concentrate on boxing. many of us have bad days at work after having an argument with the missus. or vica versa....and besides he is training...hard, for a month and up pre fight. if your not motivated. being told your lazy and unmotivated is a case of whipping the dead horse.

he was being spoilt by warren, and it left him with little traction. and now he looks the worse off. and looks like he was a exposed phoney, which personally i don't think he is but he has some severe deficiency's in defence, stamina, skills. all good but just unavailable to him when the going gets tough. also he might think he let people down not just in boxing but around his area.

it's a shame because he is top 20 level, and has all the things available to him. you can lead a horse to water....

What's Mitchell done to warrant another good pay? Getting splattered by Katsidis? If he's as good as he claims to be, take the fight, win it, and then big paydays will follow. Don't start whinging about not getting enough after you've blown the biggest opportunity of your career.
