Sure, Brandon would beat him, but I'd be rooting for Mitchell all the way. I really hope this gets made before Brandon moves up. Would be a great fight while it lasts.
Don't get me wrong I really like the look of Rios but I do think people are making him out to be some sort of monster a bit to soon. The win against Acosta was great and he looked far to strong for Antillion when blowing him away in three rounds. But Antillion is a 'B' class fighter he's lost whenever he has stepped up to World level, was coming off a war with Soto and was regularly getting punched in the head by Valero in sparring. Now this is not to say I don't believe he would beat Murray and Mitchell because I do. I just feel people are maybe getting a little carried away, based on what Rios has produced so far. I personally think we will see the best of him when he moves to 140 lbs and he doesn't just use his aggression to win fights.
You guys are over rating Rios a bit, for me he is just a better version of John Murray but I do also think he would have to much for Kevin, but it would be a decent fight while it lasted.
No Go Getta, it would be a massacre. Rios is better at everything than Katsidis is, and Mitchell only lasted 3 with him.
I think this time round, providing he's in a better mental state of mind, he'd put up a better effort against Rios. The Murray fight showed us he still has something in him. He'd last at least 8 rounds against Rios, I think.
No, the Murray fight showed that Murray is nowhere near the level of Katsidis. Something we knew beforehand. It is in no way a sensible barometer for a matchup between Kev and Rios.
Acosta fought a perfect game plan, is one of the best fighters in the division and has the sort of style which might give Rios problems but Rios still got to him. What’s the obsession with calling everyone overrated?
Mitchell with his "eastend hardman" act over the internet. People aren't overrationg Rios IMO they just know Murray and Mitchell are no way near his level
The Murray fight also doesn't count for much if Gallaghers statement of him "going out and getting pissed" the night before the Mitchell fight was true. Mitchell is stuck in that void where he's above European level, but not quite World level
This is so utterly idiotic I don't know where to start. The only comparison to Murray stylistically is that he wears gloves in the ring. Hes faster, more powerful, punches with better form, and knows how to fight properly on the inside. Murray, a guy Im a fan of btw, is very sloppy.
