Just watching a few clips of Mitchell at the moment....worried about him against long armed opponents...seems he gets caught with the leading backhands to much. Such against Estrada ok a southpaw but he was constantly caught by that shot. This fights a lot about how much Mitchell has improved under Tibbs then anything Prescott does...we know what he can do and what he aims to do.

He was having trouble with Walter Estrada's "slickness" and slippery punches, getting hit with basically every hook he through.

If you watch the Tolido fight Prescott does actually know how to box well. He was boxing circles round Toledo..

Mitchell is not THAT hard to predict, maybe he has learned some new tricks, but he does tend to just bowl forward in straight lines.. - exactly where Khan went wrong with Prescott, letting Prescott time him, coming in soo predictable !!

Ok Here's my piece on this fight. I've just watched some rounds of both guys and come to this conclusion

Mitchell struggles with longer limbed opponents who throw lead shots with there back hand. He back's up in straight lines and also can't see shots coming that loop. Prescott throws a huge array of shots. Left hook to head and body,Right Uppercut,Lead Right,Jab,One Two's,Overhand Rights and so on so forth. Watching Mitchell's inside work i don't get the feeling he's not a fan of working on the inside that much and this is a tool he must use against Prescott.

Prescott likes to work the body and head with a left hook then left hook to head. He has a decent defence and also is sharp to take a half step back then counter with lead right. Mitchell doesn't have long arms and if he misses he will be made to pay. I have a feeling he will get caught and hurt early against a bigger man and i think his natural instincts will kick in and he will go to war and be stopped in round 4 after taking to much. Prescott may not be Tommy Hearns but he's a decent fighter and one that has the beating of Mitchell. Can Mitchell win..yeah he can but he needs to fight a smart fight early on and not take punishment. Hope he can do it.

Prescott lost his last fight at light welter...to me that's not his fighting weight. He also was going to fight for WBC Lightweight title then that fell through so we can't tell his motivation and how the weight affected his display.

My prediction is Prescott to win inside 4 with Mitchell being stopped because of punishment. I did feel Mitchell can box early on but i'm not sure his defence will be that improved just learning to take shots on the gloves. Prescott launches combination's such as left hook right hand right uppercut. He is very hard to stop if you try blocking shots with gloves at range. Mitchell needs to slip and roll under the shots and come off to sides.

    :bbbJust imo of course :good

Mitchell gets hit too much. He's got decent whiskers but the recent fights with Andrade and Margarito show that if you keep getting tagged with powerful shots your going down.

He can't get involved in a war with Prescott - he's not as good as Amir made him look, but the chap's got power.

I hope Mitchell can pull this off but i wouldn't be suprised if Prescott stops him late. Mitchell has a good chin, but against Carl Johansen he took too many and was lucky that he got the stoppage because Carl just gave up. I think Prescott is going give him his first loss - hope i'm proved wrong.

I see what your saying Frankie. I was taught to slip and parry at times. Mitchell rarely slips and now he saying he's been told to take shots on gloves. I thought considering he's had a good amatuer background and training with Paul Cook he would of known to take shots on gloves if you don't slip. I think Arnie's right with what he says and i felt more comfortable slipping and also it would open angles up to step inside and let you work the body.

    :good

I hope it is Rob. I feel if Kevin can keep out of trouble for the first few rounds he can. Just worried he will get caught and hurt. It's a two sided fight in which the later rounds suit Mitchell my prediction is swaying back and forth it really is.

Is anybody else worried that Mitchell is being taught to take shots on the gloves at this stage of his career ? AND........

You take shots on the gloves when your fighting Khan/Malignaggi YOU DO NOT TRY TO TAKE SHOTS ON THE GLOVES WHEN FIGHTING A BANGER !!!!!!!!

I wish Mitchell the best and will be rooting for him come Saturday but I must say i'm not as confident as I was last week.

I think it's a strange fight to make.

Unless they have seen something in Prescott that Mitchell can exploit...... are cashing out on Kevin or trying to build a Khan rematch I cannot for the life of me understand the making of this one.

    What is Prescott's chin like?
