No, picking Estrada over Mitchell wasn't rash at all. Thinking 12/5 on Estrada was great odds was absolutely correct given the pool of evidence heading in. There was no reason not to view this as 50-50 or to favor El Tremendo (especially factoring in the corner he put together, and pitting his last showing - game against Fig, a top lightweight in the world - against Mitchell's - struggling with Maduma, not even close to a top lightweight). None of us know exactly how the styles and strategies are going to play out in the ring until it happens, that's why they fight the fights.

Boxing isn't a predictable sport. Anybody who says different, lies. Anybody who claims to have a perfect record of "picking" results, either hasn't picked on a very large sampling or cherry-picks on mainly just mismatches.

Estrada over Mitchell proved to be a wrong pick but in no way in hindsight does it become a stupid pick. Given all that we knew heading in, that pick made perfect sense. Hence why everybody - including people who didn't even pick Estrada - was so impressed and surprised by Mitchell tonight.

Boxing is full of surprises, hence "theater of the unexpected".

Good performance from Mitchell but I don't know much about the guy he beat. Think the talk about him being able to compete against Terrence Crawford on the strength of that win is a bit farfetched

    This :good

Kevs always had outside of the ring issues, hes been arrested a number of times....

When he split from Tony Sims originally he went off the rails so to speak and wasn't prepared properly for certain fights

The talents always been there that's never been in doubt but his head outside of the ring has

Was he without Sims for both of his losses then?

Estrada is good (though he didn't look it after Mitchell was through with him) - but yeah, big leap from dominating him to hanging with Crawford.

Anyone else think Mitchell looks too small at lightweight though?

I think he has good skills but I worry that he ain't big enough at world level

I don't know what to expect in a Linares fight. He could box like the second coming of Alexis Arguello or get cut up and knocked out. I'll always watch him though because he'll either provide drama or a great boxing display.

He always seems to look undersized. Against Prescott he looked as though he was about 2 weight classes smaller. The way he negated the reach and size advantage tonight was impressive though.

I don't think he can hang with someone like Crawford but he's earned a shot at a title.

Simms is well respected, he was great for Darren Barker and seems to be doing a good job with Anthony Joshua

All of you fans of Ratface enjoy this feeling while it lasts because Linares will knock Ratboys Ratteeth down his Ratthroat.
