If Kevin Mitchell wins a rematch with Katsidis. I think he deserves a title shot. I doubt he could beat Brandon Rios or Juan Manuel Marquez so Miguel Vazquez would be easiest, who wins? Poll coming.

I like Vasquez here but its fifty fifty. Incidentally I remember last summer everyone was really high on Vasquez but no one mentions him any more. Its wierd.

If Mitchell gets serious I could see him winning by close UD, but that's if he stays disaplined...

Vazquez, easily. Mitchell knocks out a poor man's Juan Diaz and suddenly people are all over his knob. He's not that quick, he's not that strong, he's undersized and he's easy to hit. He'd probably be the best 130 pounder in the world if he moved back down, but at 135, he loses to all the top guys.

mitchell could compete with vasquez cus he isnt a big puncher. would be a good fight but kev needs to ubber aggresive when fighting at light weight. he should take leaf out of pacmans book. he's smaller than other guys and doesn't hit as hard as say cotto or maregerito but he balances that out with being aggressive and fast and always very busy in fights. for me thats the only chance he has against a guy like katsidis or vasquez. keeping on the move and when he lands his shots in the centre of the ring do it with big power and speed. not just light flurries to win rounds. cus if you dont take the strength out of the bigger guy his size will tell later on.

This would be a very evenly matched fight. I have a feeling this might be a classic. Vasquez lost by decision to Canelo and Bradley, but has good wins over B and C fighters Prescott and Kim. Mitchell I think also hasnt beaten a worldbeater, but I really like his skills and Vasquez would be a handful for him. Anybody else think this might be a great fight with B level fighters?

Wow... I honestly had no idea Vasquez took on Canelo.. and not once but twice!... BUT i already knew he is a favorite against Mitchell.. Mitchell is European level at his best... but I think Vasquez gets stopped by Rios... and so does Mitchell

Vasquez is a better technician than Mitchell, and would win. I'd be rooting for Mitchell though. Vasquez is PAINFULLY boring.

But his fights against Canelo were at 147, and keep in mind he's a lightweight. IIRC, he was Margarito's sparring partner, and Margarito saw something in the kid and decided to manage him. Since then he's gone undefeated, moved down in weight and captured a belt.
