The belt was the commodity when there was one in each division Billy, but not any more. Plenty of fighters have earnt more than the champion they challenged. The commodity is cash , the fighter that draws the most is therefore the commodity. It's why champion Azumah Nelson wanted McGuigan along with every other fighter from 122-130. This does not mean Mitchell is the draw here, that's ******s job to decide, but the belts are not that important any more.

Well id disagree mate, like it or not Ricky has achieved much more than Kevin, A football stadium show is very expensive and i hear west ham dont want it anyway,Ricky will pull in 8,000-13,000 his next fight and theres no risk gaurantee for the promoter.:good

i doubt it would be that big, burns profile has really been raised up here but even if they did the fight up here i still think they would struggle for 20 thousands unless they had anderson/simmonds/appleby and harrison all in competative fights

Fair play some fighters deserve a bigger cut due to them being the draw, these guys are right, the title is what makes the fight, no way would this sell as much as a British/Euro title fight.

I agree completely Ricky has done more. Much more on my opinion. Ricky will be hard to beat, I fear when plan A does not work for him he will be in trouble though. Plan A is good mind.

But the belt is only an extra nowadays. If Ricky had an opponent in Kazakhstan that pulled in 250,000 fans paying £100 a ticket. You and Ricky would be eating sheeps eyes in a tent within a month for 40% of the purse. Because 40% of a huge amount beats , 60% of a decent amount. The belt would be nice to bring home, the millions more so.
