So like most I have been very impressed with him lately, he looks a classy and very exciting prospect. I'm surprised after 30 odd fights that he hasn't had any bigger fights already or recieved much hype, any reason for this or to his slow moving career compared to the likes of Cleverly? What's Mitchell's amateur background? I see he was 2003 ABA featherweight champion.

yep it seems like a classic case of him being moved too slowly by Warren I'm afraid, at least he's still young but after 30 fights he should've had more tests.

After his war with Carl Johanneson on the Haye-Macrenelli undercard (April 2008 ) I expected him to step up massively.

His next fight was against Walter Estrada in the US, where he took far more punishment than he should have (his face was a mess). That, and a hand injury slowed him down.

Since the Johanneson fight, he has been my favourite fighter, and it's been very frustrating watching his career not get the boost I was hoping for.

Thanks for that insighting post. I'll watch Mitchell - Johanneson now. I'm sure I seen it when it happened but can't really remember it for some reason, silly me.

I think it was a great move moving Kevin to 135, he looks strong at the weight. I think Kevin will give Kats a good old beating, and get a shot at the world title before the end of year.

Just watched the Johanneson fight, Mitchell was lucky! Amazing determination and fitness from him though. I don't know why he decided to in fight so much in this fight?

Warren is the answer to your question. Also while Amir was around Mitchell didn't get a look in. IT's all started to pan out rather well for him now though so good luck to him. Michell vs Murray would be awesome!!!
